Premium account (Domain name question)

Postby setsunacutey » November 6th, 2009, 6:39 am

Hi, before buying a premium account I'd like to make sure if we can also link to local domain names. I just bought http://www.curtain-call.nl for my comic because .com adresses are very expensive here, harder to acquire and didn't have a suitable domain name altogether. So I just want to make sure I can use that name instead of .com. Based on your limited information regarding the premium subscription it doesn't really matter, but I'd like to check anyway. And how will the redirecting go once I have premium? (Will there be some option in the user panel or so?) I hope you can inform me a bit more and thank you for taking the time to read this.

As long as you are able to set your domain's nameserver's, you will be able to use the service. Who is your domain registrar?

I think I can do that and I specifically looked for a domain name that allows plugging/linking to another page. Bought it here, not sure if it's helpful since the site is Dutch and also sells .com's and whatever. http://www.mijndomein.nl/

I can't read that language, but it looks like a typical domain registrar, which would of course allow you to set the nameservers. You should be fine.

Okay, then I won't worry about it too much, buy a premium account and see how that works out. ^_^

Update: It works all fine, everything's set with domain name and email and whatnot. I like that. I also got some nice PM's trying to help me at the forum, which is also great! Thanks for all the help!

What I don't like is that we're told our sites will be entirely ad-free. That's exactly what I want. But here I am scrolling over my page and what do I see, still google ads at every page. Yuck. Since it's a valuable part of the premium package I hope they're gone soon too. ;) Or should I, as a user, have done something to get rid of them and if so, what?

To remove google ads, head over to Webcomic Management -> Appearance -> Overall Layout , look for and remove this text

Code: Select all

{GOOGLE_AD_468x60}

Those ads are just a part of the layout you're using. As granmastern said, they can be easily removed.
