Rules

    1) Use descriptive titles for your threads. Example: "How do I upload comics?" Do not use vague titles like, "question," "HELP! ANYBODY??"

    2) Describe your problem in detail. Explain exactly what is wrong. Post images, screen shots, links, code snippets - whatever is relevant. The better the information you provide, the better the solution you will receive.

    3) One question per thread. Do not post multiple questions in one thread; that way, we can resolve questions individually. Make a new thread for each question you have, unless your questions are closely related.

    4) Be polite. The more polite you are, the more people will want to help you. Be patient, and we will help you find the solution to your problem.

If your question has been resolved, please say so. A thank you would also be nice. If your question has NOT been answered, say so in the original topic. If your topic has been moved to resolved, you may then AND ONLY THEN post a new topic regarding the same issue.

Large Amount of Spam Bot Comments

So every now and then I've noticed at least on one of my comics that I will have a day or two where I get a TON of random comments from strange individuals. The title is always a name of some sort and the comments are paragraphs of out of context bizarre subject matter, from random book pages to talking about political cooking to complete nonsense in some unknown language . Example :

Name- Sunday (Guest)
"Oops! I forgot to menoitn that I have started reading the Cost of Discipleship by the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer during the midst of Nazi rule. I've barely started reading it, and I have a profound admiration for his love and devotion for Jesus. He defied the Nazis, and paid the ultimate price for it when he was executed at the concentration camp at Flossenburg on April 9, 1945 . . . just a few day before it was liberated by Allied forces. Witnesses state that he went to the gallows with admirable calmness and dignity. Without a doubt, he was committed in his love for Jesus."

or

Name- Miro (guest)
"Glad to listen !Shoutem is the best free sercive provider I ever heard. Some sercive providers who came with free for ever and no branding Promise are palying cheap tricks and broke their promises .But shoutem is still offering it's complete features and sercives free of cost.I am very thankful to you !"

Now again its not something that happens ALL the time but now and then I will get HUGE HUGE groupings of them like up to 20 at a time of random names and complete gibberish for comments. It doesn't matter how often I delete and 'ban' them or 'report' them , the KEEP coming back. I don't know why its only on certain comics (they have no different filters then my other ones) And frankly its VERY VERY VERY ANNOYING.

Is anyone else having this problem, I could not find anything in the forum on this or how to deal with it because frankly it's a huge pain in the butt and a really worrisome thing.

You could try this: Spam Poison

Just follow the directions and put it somewhere in your comic coding.

I second this (and not just because you recommended it to me a few days ago).

I was having the same problem with nonsense comments and this worked wonderfully.
