Looking to hire writer for BL comic

Postby Limespice » September 8th, 2011, 1:55 am

Hello! 8-)

I am an artist who is currently looking to pay someone to write a story idea I have for a comic. Some things that I will or might require help with are script writing, story development, character design (visual, personality, backstories) and basically anything else writer-related. I'd like it to be a team effort, but I'm paying you. I want to be able to brainstorm ideas and be able to be honest about what I like or don't like as much, and I appreciate the same in return. I need the person that I'm working with to be okay with the fact that I have to work at my own pace. I'd prefer it if we can get along :) I don't bite.

My art style is manga inspired. Actually I had quit drawing for a few years due to personal reasons and I'm just now getting back into it. As a result I don't have anything super recent to show you, but I can certainly send over some samples from just before I quit if you're seriously interested. I don't think my style has really changed.

I don't want to reveal too much here, and it's definitely still a work in progress, but basically the story I want to do is a BL in which the two main characters are a serial killer and a vampire. Not the teeny-bopper morally correct Twilight kind of vampire, but the kind meant for adults. Dark. Creepy. Elegant. Alluring. Blood thirsty. I'm not really sure what genre I'd call it. Maybe drama, romance, horror (depending what you call horror). It takes place in modern day. Again, if you're seriously interested I can tell you more. I'm very open to ideas for the story and how to make it better and all of that.

Important:

-I really like unexpected but realistic plot twists! If you can pull those off, you'll win my heart forever!
-I need you to know the difference between what is cliche and what is good.
-Please try to be reasonable and I will do the same.
-I like good grammar and spelling
-We'll need to be able to communicate not just in e-mails, but in instant messaging or something as well.
-The ability to constructively critisize my art is a plus, but not required.
-I'd prefer it if you're over 18. For several reasons.
-if there's anything else, I'll add it in an edit.

Please note that I am mostly doing this comic for myself, but if for some reason it's super successful I'd be happy to split any profits 50/50.
Also I SUCK at words, so I apologize if this whole thing is jumbled and hard to understand.

So please let me know if you're interested! I'd like to see samples of what you can do before I make a decision. We can discuss payment and amount in private.
I really hope this all didn't come off as ridiculous...

I'd like to help you if you don't mind, I am not exclusively a writer and payment for an ongoing/online project isn't really necessary, but I feel I can provide you with what you are requesting. If you want a sample of my writing you can read my comic (DeSTRESS, link in sig), however I will provide a quick disclaimer that the first chapter is not representative of the whole comic.

If you feel I meet your criteria you can PM me with your instant messenger of choice, if you simply want more information I encourage you to post your questions in this thread so that other prospects can answer those possible questions (if it applies to them) should they choose to apply as well.

So you've had two people reply so far. And you've probably already started on a project with one of them. BUT, if you're still looking for more writers for some dramatic/plot twisting/BL please feel free to look at my http://www.fanfiction.net/~moonllotushere and sample some of my stuff. Right now they're just fanfics, but I can write with OC's easily. Please PM me if you're interested. No payment is required.

Ladidaa~

Seems like you have plenty to choose on. I was going to offer my help as well, so if you want/need anything story related, let me know! I'm usually pretty good at plot twists [I have a short story I can send to you if you'd like to take a gander]. No payment needed on my end, just love to write and love to help. Hope to read your comic soon! [btw, my current comic is on hold because I can't seem to find a colorist that would actually stick with the project, hence why it hasn't been updated recently :( ]

I realize that you've had a lot of replies to this but;

I myself am looking for an artist for a BL comic. I already have enough written out for one or two pages.

Some of my credentials? I'm in my second year of university, as an English Major -so creative writing is my strong point. My honours thesis is actually going to be a collection of BL short stories, so I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on the genre (alongside Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Historical-Fiction).

If you're interested -and haven't decided on someone already, PM me and let me know. Also, payment is unnecessary :)

Ahh!! I so wanted to be an English Major, but decided on going with business instead. Oh how much I would have loved to be an English Major with a strong focus on Creative writing. I so envy you right now! If you ever get published, let me know! I wouldn't mind reading some of your BL books int he future :) {we need more good ones out there lol]

Have a great one and good luck!!

i would want to help, but thats not usually something im used to writing about large-scale. by that, i mean i usually have elements of that in any stories i write or think up, usually its a certain character, but i doubt i could do it very well for a main character or a huge part of a story. plus, well, im only 13, so... yeah. =) hope u find somebody perfect for this though!
