Courage is back!

I agree with Tezzle but think showing reruns of Courage would be great. That show was really cute and deserves to be replayed.

As for new shows though, I think there are two or three on CN that I can tolerate right now but the rest really just make me feel ashamed of American animation... Unless there are some hidden gems I'm not seeing. They seem lazily put together, poor drawings, poor writing, poor animation.

Maybe my standards for animation and art are too high nowadays but given my first experiences with American animation were amazing I know it can do better. So I expect it to.

I can name half a dozen shows running on CN that are good if not great, I'll even admit Regular Show is one of them. I don't much care for it, but it's got a lot of good fans so it's doing something right. Looney Tunes Show is hilarious, Amazing World of Gumball's good, Adventure Time's super cool, MAD is hit and miss but I love the concept and how it's not just resorting to mostly surreal or slapstick humor like a lot of the old kids sketch-comedy shows, Batman: The Brave and The Bold did the impossible and made the silver-age era of comics fun and entertaining in a non so-bad-it's-funny way. Scooby Doo Mystery Inc, while it's first season ended a few months ago did the even MORE impossible and made Scooby Doo legitimately fun funny and entertaining on it's own merits and not just because it's nostalgic and they're iconic characters. It's doing SO much more, and I can't wait for season 2. I haven't seen Thundercats, but it's clearly trying to do its own thing while still being Thundercats which I love to see. And I haven't seen MUCH of Young Justice, but I like what I have seen.

So yeah I was wrong. I can name 9.

EDIT: Okay, so given a few of those are REMAKES, I WILL say that if they want to re-do Courage and they have something NEW to bring to the table I will be...actually I still won't be on board until I hear what that concept would be. Courage was pretty simple and have a great original premise. Regardless, if you're going to rekindle an old franchise be ready to bring some variety!

The ones I was thinking of were world of gumball and adventure time. Granted I was writing off the remakes because I don't really think of them of new shows. They're just old shows dug up and reimagined. With Young Justice, I have seen a little (juuuust a little) and it just seemed like Teen Titans. Mad is VERY hit and miss and most of what I've seen of it was pretty strongly in the "miss" category.

My view on remakes in general though seems to be that it's okay to semi-modernize old movies but with cartoons I feel like it isn't needed. The Looney Toons one is okay and I reaaally want to watch the Thundercats one since I haven't had the chance but given the many revamps of scooby doo that have popped up (icluding the movies), am I the only one who thinks it's time to let scooby die? Theres got to be new ideas out there somewhere. As for new Batman, I saw a little of it too and maybe I just came in at a bad point but it seemed reaaally bad.

EDIT: Remaking Courage sounds like remaking Invader Zim. I can't see that going well... What else can be added to a show like that?

That's what I used to think, but no I'm telling you they did it right this time! REALLY right! This is the best one since A Pup Named Scooby Doo, and that used to be my favorite! They're REAL character's now! With DEPTH! And there's a story! And the comedy is AWESOME! You gotta check it out. Everyone does. All the time forever.

The Hex girls even come back one episode. YES those Hex Girls. Thought you didn't remember any of their songs from that movie? SURPRISE, YOU'RE SINGING ALONG RIGHT NOW! Yeah they look different from the movie, but that's another great thing, this cartoon has it's own art style as well. EDIT: Daphne's singing that 2nd part. It's part of the plot...She also sings a new song! It's pretty awesome. The pun is that Fred loves setting monster traps more then Daphne. OR DOES HE?!?!

YES, i agree, i love the new Scooby Doo show, it's magnificent!

As for courage, i'm up for one more season, and maybe then it could end for good. You know, after 9 years, maybe they thought of more episodes to make, or even take some that were left out due to budget. I don't want courage staying, i just want to see how's it doing.

There're some good shows right now around television, and i agree with Tez it'd be nice to see some of them get their chance. Remember, Adventure Time's pilot was around by the times of Dexter, if i recall correctly.
UpDatin' at least once every 42 hours! OR THE COMIC ENDS FOREVER.

I don't think there's anything wrong with bringing it back as long as it's not a gamble of a reboot. Although a leaked teaser isn't much to go on it doesn't seem like they're going to completely change it, and it's not like it's really stopping original shows from happening.
I think it's great seeing new and old cartoons alongside each-other instead of only one or the other.

You sure this is real? Because it looks like it could be fake too.

I hope it's real though. I don't even have cable TV anymore, but yeah...

That show always creeped me out as a kid. That being said, glad it's back! Kids nowadays need to be scared, it builds character!

yes maybe but that generation is getting older and most young children nowadays have no idea what Courage is or watched enough of it to appreciate just how amazingly it was animated and directed. The cartoon series was a solid gem and reruns whenever i browse CN is always on ungodly late hours or randomly inserted in a time slot and never seen again. A remake would be unnecessary, and a new season i'm a bit skeptical of but if its a short one just to revive the spark, i wouldn't mind. That means CN is doing something RIGHT for once.

I feel old cause I remember Courages pilot episode. It was at the end of one of those Scooby-Doo movies...I think it was either "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island" or "Scooby-Doo and the Witches Ghost"...my memory is getting horrible ( ;A; signs of old age! lolz) and the artstyle was completely different back then and Eustance and Muriel used to not talk at all and it was about the chicken from outer space I believe. Good times! :D Ah, childhood lol!

Really? I remember seeing it as well but not at the end of Scooby movies, haha.
I saw it in "What a Cartoon!" which was basically one big pilot showcase. That show was cool. I remember seeing the Johnny Bravo pilot on there a lot, as well as Powerpuff Girls and this one cartoon called Larry and Steve which was like a spiritual predecessor to Family Guy. It was by MacFarlane and was about a dumb guy who finds a smart talking dog, (sound familiar? Seth even gave them the same voices as Peter and Brian.)
Bleh, sorry for the rambling. What a Cartoon! was so cool, though. :D
