And I don't really care about the most updated thing since I use automatic updates anyway. A lot of others probably do so it wouldn't have an effect on them, either. Leaving users finding our comics to choice is a lot better option to keep it all fair.

And if its bigger than before, then please trim it down, because there are people who still use an 800x600 screen resolution.

Yes, but most people nowadays have a 1024x768, or something like that. If Admin is trying to make the site more accessible and optimized for the greatest number of people, he's going to want to use a common resolution. Yes, some people still use an 800x600, but those people are few and ever dwindling. Perhaps you might invest (or ask your parents, as I'm unsure as to your age) in a higher quality monitor. It what all the cool kids do, anyway.

And because it's the news announcement for the site upload, I'm going to say that I was right in that the update looks AMAZING. I still recognize it as SJ, but it looks infinitely more professional. I'm not going to bother listing the improvements because such a list would require several inconveniently large supercomputers which I am not (currently) in possession of. Awesome job, Admin.

Man the site looks really cool now although I do agree the new updates should be the main default page on the site. But still the site looks really cool great work dude.

Love the new site layout, but hate the fact I lose a lot of page views. Can't you guys make it so outsiders can get the Just Updated bits again?

I'm not a fan of the new layout. Probably because it will take some getting used to. Mainly because the banners get shrunk on my favorites and the front page so they don't look good.

Due to overwhelming demand, the "Just Updated" tab has given a lot more weight, so it will tend to be the first tab to display now.

For reference, here's all of the constructive criticism that has been expressed so far:

the color seems to be a bit...depressing

the color scheme seems a bit cold, and doesn't particularly suit SJ's logo (it being a flame and all)

I'm starting to agree with those saying the colors are a bit depressing. Blue is so overdone, and it's very plain and often associated with more buisinesslike websites

I don't like that the first thing I see is that "The next generation of Webcomics is here" bit. As a regular SJ user, I know about these features already, and it draws too much attention away from what I consider more important, such as featured and recently updated comics. Personally, I would like it if that was something you'd see only when logged off, maybe?

When you first appear on the main page, the comic banners are out of site for most people. The emphasis is on joining. That's very grand and all, but it could be slimmed down, vertically-speaking, to keep it efficient for people who're already members (or, maybe you could hide that section for logged-in users). Shaving a few pixels off of the header or tabs or tables should work nicely...as for everything else...absolutely spectacular!

Mainly because the banners get shrunk on my favorites and the front page so they don't look good. (x2)

I was just wondering if you're going to change the default favicon for comics and the forum's one to the new SJ flame? : D

Nice, but the create tab for your webcomics can be confusing.

I think it looks really good, although I kinda miss the little Jeeves on the front page, it's a shame you didn't put him on it somewhere.

i do wish that my profile showed all my favourite comics, not just the most recently updated ones.

I think things look far too cluttered and cramped, and prefer the old layout.

Having a unique list for premium and donator comics would be nice, since that appears to be gone. It just seems like that's one of the perks you're naturally entitled to as a donator.

I'm not fond of the set-up for favorites. It's very cluttered, and having to columns for different comics is just too much. I'd rather have to go through more pages than have something get lost in the crowd that is my favorites list.

I don't really like the new design. It feels unwelcoming. It feels cold.

Feels like DrunkDuck.

This isn't really something that can be fixed, but the new site doesn't work on my PS3 browser anymore. :<
Oh well, at least the Forums still work. :3

Also, it seems a lot of the criticisms can be adressed with said idea of an option to switch between the new and old styles... If said option is possible that is...
Now what might this be?

I was wondering what it was that I was feeling. That's just it. Haha.

Like someone mentioned before, the big box for "The next generation of Webcomics is here" seems excessively large and obnoxious, like you're trying to sell me software. It's big enough that it pushes the comics almost off the screen if you don't have a larger resolution -- probably 800px height or less. I also liked it a bit better when the spotlighted comic was individually recognized so that they actually are recognized for being in the spotlight, rather than lumping it with all the previously spotlighted comics. Maybe reduce the size of the premium donator banner and put the spotlighted comic next to it?

Also, this is a superficial issue I have, but is the font used for "Browse," "Create," and those tabs Times New Roman or something? Using a serif font there was kinda jarring for me, since the rest of the site is using a sans-serif font.

I was going to ask about that spotlight thing . How exactly does it work with the new design?? I like the fact that It shows all of the comics that were previously spotlighted, but how do we tell which comic is the newly spotlighted one? Is it just the one that's in the top?? When it's jumbled with all of the other comics it doesn't make it feel as individual of the winner of that week.
Any SJ related questions? Feel free to look around, and if you can't find an answer, make a topic here and we'll get to you as fast as we can! :D

It looks like some sort of jumble...As far as I'm aware, I thought Vampire Fetish or Between Gears was the current spotlight comic, and it's not at the top. Sooo...unless Wolfen is the new spotlight, looks like it's kinda...not sorted? I dunno. Maybe my memory sucks. XD

The time stamping on the main site seems really weird. One of my comics was updated today at about 9:30 am, but according to the site, it was updated Yesterday.

Wow~! I'm so proud! really nice layout. I was like "WOAHHHHHHHH" as a member since Smackjeeves start!

Although the Logo seems so clean, I really don't like it! x_x
