Personally I like poisons. But they can backfire.

You know how in fiction poisons always have antidotes? I think when poisons expire they invert their poisonous potentials and become healing potions. Still work on zombies, though. I'm trying it right now with a jar of barbicide I found with my grampa's old barber stuff in the attic; it's a few decades old.
