I'm an artist in need of a manga writer

Postby Guest » June 8th, 2010, 12:37 pm

Hi, I'm WSM
I am not an anime fan but lately I've been trying my hand at anime-style art and I think I'm pretty good at it. So I want to work on a manga comic. My only request is that I have full control of the art. That means that I can decide panel layout, color/shading, and stuff like that. I also want to have a say in how characters look and the chance to suggest changes to the writing if I see necessary.

I'm not picky when it comes to what kind of comic I want to draw but I do have some preferences...
-No furries/anthros
-No medieval-style fantasies (as in no dragons, knights, castles, etc.)
-A large cast of characters
-A city setting
-Romance (straight or gay)
-Giant robots is a plus
-A harem story is a plus

Here's some examples of my anime-style work...

And my non-anime-style work...

Excuse the poor quality, my scanner is a bitch

Thank you and I look forward to working with you ^_^

Can you draw bodies, scenery, objects, etc without copying from another drawing or photo? You may think you're "pretty good" but you're not yet good enough for anything but a generic floating-head in-joke comic.
You need to get a better scanner, or learn to properly photograph your art if you want to do a comic.

Or am I just feeding a troll here?

Edit: I think your request would benefit from the things I listed. It's true that they wouldn't be any different from your regular style, but isn't the idea to advertise what you can do for a comic? I doubt most people are going to look past this thread for how you can draw other things. That was my intended message, and I apologize for how aggressive it ended up being. My goal was not to troll you but to help you improve your post so that you'd get more relevant attention, but clearly I failed horribly.

It sounds like you're trolling. You're suppose to respond if you'd like to collaborate, not to question my artistic abilities. In fact, why would you respond just tell to me I can't draw or that the photo quality sucks?
It's not like those examples are the only drawings I have ever done. I can and have drawn bodies/scenery/etc. without copying. I just grabbed a camera and snapped a few quick photos of my manga stuff specifically to use as an example in this thread. I didn't think I had to draw examples of bodies/scenery in manga style because it'd be the same as if I drew them in American style.

This is true. Come now, Eishiya, I know you've got more respect than that.
Any SJ related questions? Feel free to look around, and if you can't find an answer, make a topic here and we'll get to you as fast as we can! :D

I've seen at LEAST 7 threads from you, usually asking for the same thing you did in the previous thread. Please stop trolling the forum and try to stick to something :<
