Here I am. Sort of.
Hello, there!

Glad to see you're still reading! You, my friend, have the patience of a saint. And for that, I applaud you.

Unfortunately, as you might have noticed, this isn't really an update. Well, it sort of is, but it's more an update of the 'hey, I'm not dead and I'm actually working on the comic please don't give me that look' kind of update.

So, to explain it as succinctly as possible: I am in college. And college is brutal. I have classes, and homework, and a very limited space in which to do art. I'm trying the best I can to keep up with it all, and right now that's kind of my priority. Maybe when I'm better at managing my time, I'll start doing pages a bit more quickly.

Which brings me to my next bit of news: Jadrus is undergoing something of a makeover. As you can see, I've made changes to character design and to the setting. I looked over my old designs and figured out that they just didn't really fit in the world I was creating (I mean,who would hire scruffy ponytail Gehnn? Doesn't make sense. So now she looks more like someone working at a stall and less like someone who just got back from the swimming pool. With half a face.) As I've said, this is primarily a training project. So much training is being done. Primarily of the self-taught variety, with some college classes mixed in.

I have also switched from digitally inking to inking by hand with a brush, and I must say, it is much much MUCH more comfortable and easier for me to handle. And now I work one panel at a time, separate from the rest of the page. While this makes it a lot easier to make a detailed and well-drawn comic, it also means that the pages take a few more hours to finish than normal.

You can see now why this is difficult.

But I AM trying to make this work, and I'm really sorry that I've been so awful about updates. I really want this comic to work. Really, really, really.

I'm not sure when a real update would be, but sometime in early November sounds likely. I'll be sure to post something when I have a definite date.

Hey, I was just re-reading this comic, and I just now noticed this: Rose saying, "You've seen another thing coming, Mister." The actual phrase is, "You've got another think coming." Just had to comment. I'm sorry.

Heh heh, yeah. Personally, I love seeing how people have improved. It's a weird feeling, but a good one. Makes you want to improve, too!

Anyways. Thanks for coming to look at my comic! :D I'm really glad you like my colors. Colors are the bane of my existence. Much more comfortable with black and white. Oh, well.

As to an update schedule....at the moment, no. I'm heading off to school in a few weeks, and I have no buffer to speak of, so the comic is on a hiatus. But I plan to re-start it in a few months, after everything's settled. Hopefully.

Hey! I don't know if you would remember me, but I was on Elfwood a few years ago and trying to get a comic started, and you commented on my profile a lot. You were just getting your account, I remember you telling me....anyways, I just wanted to comment on your comic, and tell you that you draw wonderful characters and awesome hair. :D Backgrounds are, alas, also a weak point for me, but I understand that tracing over photographs helps a lot. Like, for practice. I know it's helped me quite a bit.

I really appreciated all the comments you gave me on Elfwood, as I was but a young and insecure teen who did not know a panel from a paintbrush. Oh, gosh, I hope I didn't come off as sounding too stalkerish....ugh. But, yeah. Really appreciated it. Is the gist of it.

And plus, you've got your own awesome thing going on here! Keep this comic going. Seriously. You've got something awesome here.

AAaaaaaand now creepy stalker person out. :D
