Not so amazing when you consider I switched over when Smackjeeves was down with no indication of when it was coming back. By the time you had straightened it out enough with the evil hosting company to at least put up an explanation page, I'd already gone through the effort.

WebAmused has move to Webcomics Nation

The new URL is http://www.webcomicsnation.com/jamused/webamused

or you can get a LJ feed, LJUSER webamused

I'll be setting up either a redirect or a tooncast shortly. First I have to recover all the annotations, and maybe the comments...

My friend Russell's version (which he posted as a comment to the first), wasn't bad, and had a nice punch-line, but I think mine has better rhyme and scansion, particularly when it comes to tracking the original.

"I AM A ROCK, I AM AN ISLAND", is still by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.
Well, either you've heard the song, or you haven't. It did hit #5 on the Billboard charts in 1996.

"I AM A ROCK, I AM AN ISLAND", by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. Just in case you were wondering.

CYBORG (c) and TM DC Comics. Toy by BANDAI.

The song Cyborg is misquoting is "Breakfast at Tiffany's", by Deep Blue Something

And I said, "What about
Breakfast at Tiffany's?"
She said, "I think I
remember the film.
and as I recall, I think,
we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's
the one thing we've got."

STARFIRE and RAVEN are (c) and TM DC Comics. Toys by BANDAI.

"Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos" are Raven's magic words and the mantra she uses for meditation. Azarath is Raven's home dimension. If the meaning of Metrion and Zinthos have ever been revealed, I didn't see the episode and can't find anything with a quick Googling.

I got the toys from Toys R Us, a few months ago when I started thinking about doing this strip.

BEAST BOY is (c) and TM DC Comics. Toy by BANDAI. Don't know why BANDAI chose to make Beast Boy that flourescent green.

Thanks! I think I did a pretty good job of capturing their "voices", if I do say so myself.

CYBORG and BEAST BOY are (c) and TM DC Comics. Toys by BANDAI. BTW, I had to fiddle with the perspective on this to make BB shorter than Cy; BANDAI can't be bothered to make Cyborg taller than BB (I guess maybe it saves plastic? The worst is Slade, who's shorter even than Robin!)

Touched up the art on this one, because someone complained that without a mouth, Dan looked too much like Dilbert, and the woman in the background looked naked.

The Braille reads "I'm too sexy for this shirt"
That was snarky? I'm so pathetically grateful for comments the snarkiness went completely over my head.
Ooh, good one.

SPIDER-MAN and WOLVERINE are (c) and TM Marvel Comics. Marvel Mini-Mates toys are by Art Asylum. There was a time, back when I read X-Men, when it seemed like Wolverine was required to use the line "I'm the best there is at what I do...but what I do isn't nice" once an issue.

I'm experimenting with a smaller format here, now that I've figured out how to resize the page.

Screenshots from City of Villains, by Cryptic Studios and NCSoft, used according to their guidelines for fanart. That's my Mastermind character, Doctor Nogoodnik. DOCTOR NOGOODNIK is (c) Joshua Macy. Obviously he was inspired by the greatest mad scientist that comics have ever known: Dr. Thaddeus Bodog Sivana, arch-foe of Captain Marvel (the real one, the one that says SHAZAM). Gothmog, btw, is the baddest of all the Balrogs. Tiberius was a not particularly admirable Roman emperor, though far from the worst; it's also Captain Kirk's middle name.
