No thuroughly inteimidated by expectations I launch. I've actualy pre drafted a bunch of
pages, and some of the detail I've promised is ... staggering.
So -one- page a week for this arch, I'm afraid.
That being said today's page:
I like it; not so much in compartison to soem coming up, but it's still good solid work.

This is one of my favorite pages that I've done so far.
Okay, so the rest are only blocked and I hate going back to pages after I've blocked them (agh! my secert- I can't thumbnail storyboard!) But I just love the neon sign.
The upper wings go on and off so it looks like they're unfolding. This sign may show up off and on from now on, because I like it.
The origonal art has little 'shine' marks around the sign, but they didn't scan.

The first of many, many crowd scences, most of which will be better detailed than this.
ep, that's all hand drawn. I'm very sad that the state on the far side of the room got kind of muddled by scanning, but it's supposed to be wreathed in mist, so look at that, and excuse.

Busy. Oh so busy. And frustrated. I just can't seem to get started on the next story. I'm
going out of town for a bit, and when I get back, I hope to have the first few pages
penciled at least. I miss drawing Songs.

This page had to be entirely rescripted from the origonal story.
I have no idea what he means by 'loud for a mute woman'
Angel freqently waxes philisofical. t's become a lot easier when he has Shaper to explain it to, though he's not very fond of explaining things to Shaper.
Dispite the fact he genearly doesn't care about his hair, he has reqested that I not draw him again untill it grows back.

The hazard of working at my desk is that I start thinking. For instance, I start thinking.
"Hey, my pen is dieing, I'll just use a brush and inkpot on this page."
Then I noticed that I'd compeltly forgotten the slash acros Angel's chest. Not only this page, but the last page too. (It's back on the page after this) Anyhow, I hope to get the rest of this story drawn and posted by the end of the month, which marks I think the third year of drawing Songs of An Angel. Three years, three storys. Okay so THIS one took more than a year, but hey... it was praticaly two stories.

to calify, Amy isnt' speaking in his mind or anything, she just manages to get her ideas
across and rather than trying to draw that, I give it words. I'm planning on using the

Why yes it is!
The promised Shaper's orgin is being put oof untill I get past a block, and instead a breif unscripted story.
the Sounds of Silence is by Simon and Garfunkel, and I recomend you listen to it. It's sweet, haunting, and depending on how much sleep you've had, deeply meaningfull.
In keeping with Songs's vauely manga esque ness, this pinup has NOTHING to do with the story. I wanted it to be more... well, fancyfull, but Angel informed me that since he was wearing jewlery and nailpolish, I just wasnt' goign to get any more fanticfull just yet.
