@KaiterSkate: hahaa, Daisho would retire to his cave and Mardo would be hidden in the darkness waiting.

(I call him Mardy so sometimes forget his actual name)

@KaiterSkate: I think Daisho is ready to retrain as a hermit so he doesn't have to deal with people anymore.

Today's guest art is from Denniistar who you can follow at www.facebook.com/DenniiStarIllustrations/ and on Instagram @denniistarillustrations

This is such a lovely tranquil piece, Daisho and one of his many cats, watching the rain. the lighting and the scene are just so lovely I've been looking at this for ages. I wonder what they are both thinking?

I imagine this is what it's going to be like when I'm back in England, just less beautiful.

About the extras.

A couple of pages from the first printed copy I did last year with some insight into the development that Onna and Daisho went through over the years. Not included is the fact that Daisho used to be called Daishosesh, rather than Daishomaru. You can see the development of my art style as I got to grips with what I wanted my art to look like for this comic, even from page 1 to page 50 you can see how much it has changed as I've learnt so much along the way!

All that said, the differences are nothing compared to the changes to Aves and Tobu. Tobu for one, used to a boy with white hair and narrow eyes and Aves was a woman who had a fondness for short skirts (much like their sister Ain.) Maybe sometime I'll share their changes too!
Guest Art
Today's guest art is from Cyanilurus Jubatus, you can check out more of their gorgeous work here: cyanilurusjubatus.deviantart.com/

This is the second of the two amazing images by Cyanilurus, this is like the B side of the Scribe CD! Featuring Mardo and his Oracle sidekicks. I love how the two images match up next to each other as a pair. Which side would you choose? Oracles or Scribes?
---
About the extras.

Some sketches of some background characters, including the 3 Oracles that hang around Mardochaois all the time. The Oracle on the right purposely has a wandering eye and the left has glasses, if anyone has read the Oracle descriptions you'll be aware that actual eyesight is not relevant to their visions or skills. I purposely added them to highlight this.

The faces at the bottom you make recognise as the Council members from a few pages ago. Each of those members were based on a friend of mine (with permission) and before popping them in the comic I did plain sketches, I was not sure yet if they were going to be oracles or scribes but it was a lot of fun to draw my friends :D
Guest Art
Today's guest art is from Syryn Valentyne who you can find and bask in their art at - www.facebook.com/SefieValentyneArt/

Syryn is one of the kindest artists you will ever meet in your life, I've done a survey, trust me. This image of Mardo is one of many beautiful gifts I have received and they capture his personality perfectly every time!

Syryn has done this image entirely traditionally with markers, I can't even think how much time and ink this will have taken. I can guarantee that Mardo would be declaring that this portrait must also be hanging in Daishomaru's living room so that he has to stare at his smug face every day.

About the extras.

Today's extra is a another amazing picture by Syryn that was made for me earlier this year. Syryn also has a comic in the works based in a mysterious cafe, this one page comic is a quick insight of where Daisho decides to run and hide when he's not crying at Lao Fu!
Guest Art
Today's guest art is from honeypandabunny, you can follow them for more cute art here - www.facebook.com/Honeypandabunny and also www.instagram.com/honeypandabunny

Honey sent me this as a beautiful surprise before I asked for guest art and I couldn't resist giving it a week of its own! It's not often that Ain gets the limelight despite her being such a large part of the protagonists lives!

I'm sure Ain would adore this picture too and it would likely end up hung in the living room at Daisho's house, whether he wants it hung up there or not.

About the extras.

Today we get some sketches, it's possible people have seen these before but they are some of my favourites and kind of give a quick glance of everyone's personalities. Plus, who can resist a tiny ballet dancing Onna?

I love doing sketches of the characters interacting and most of the time it's situations I'll probably never get to actually show in the comic, such as Ain and Daisho's relationship from before the comic started.
Guest Art
Today's guest art is from Cyanilurus Jubatus, you can check out more of their gorgeous work here: cyanilurusjubatus.deviantart.com/

Cyanilurus has submitted two amazing images for me to share, so look forward to the second one later this month. Can you believe this is traditionally done?! I think we found ourselves a real scribe.
Go check out the page and give them a like and a follow, you won't be disappointed!

About the extras.

Added today is a sneak peak of how the comic in its initial form looked. I started Monomi a long time ago and the version you see now is revision...4??? or something.

You can see a lot has changed, originally it was a traditional only comic (as I had not learnt what digital art was yet!) but that changed once I got myself a graphic tablet. I still have the original copies somewhere, I'm very much a hoarder...

Initially the comic did start with something more exciting and we get to see Ometz who is still many pages away from being introduced. Look forward to seeing this page again soon!!

See you soon!
Hoy Hoy my beautiful readers!

So in fooooour days I am heading out to Japan for a month!! As you may have heard if you follow me on facebook, twitter etc.

(or look at the schedule for the next month I guess.)

I had hoped to have wound up this chapter before I left but I'm afraid ya'll have to wait until I'm back to find out more about Tobu's stupid questions.

I have had some kind folks donate some guest art (and boy is it beautiful) to share with you while I'm away so you'll get some lovely eye massages from some great artists!

With each beautiful piece of guest art, I will also be updating with some extra little sketches and notes so you have something to read.

I'm pretty excited!

Oracles
Sorry for the lack of comic this week folks, I've hardly been at home.

To make up for it, have this handy guide on Oracles!

I get a lot of questions about them and i'm unlikely to get any chance to explain this much in the narrative so this is a little bit of info on what they are.

~ I'm also looking for guest art to pop up while i'm on holiday so if you have something you'd like to submit, pop on over to www.facebook.com/monomicomic
I got a hair cut!

I go back to Japan in a month, so I'm attempting to learn Japanese.

There are not many chances to really test it tho.

So far my fav work is Kampai and when I get stuck with a sentence or word, I just end up saying Kampai. It just sounds so nice.
Green Tea or Water????
