OH MAN AN UPDATE! Ain't that just crazy?
Yes, that's right I am alive and Meet Dan is coming out of it's impromptu hiatus! Everyone say "HUHZAH!" (or however you spell it.)
Right then. Instead of giving you excuses, I bring you a new page! Awesome huh? Damn straight it is. Finally! Here is the contest winner! Thom, created by SirDerangedReindeer of Mammila fame, is Gem's best friend. This was my first time drawing him and let me tell you, I love this guy. I know he changes a bit from panel to panel but hey, he looks pretty spectacular by the last panel!
Right then. Updates for now are random but the hope is to get back to the original wednesday/saturday updates. Also the character section will be updated soon to include Thom and Chuck, so be on the look out for that.
Okay then. I think that's my speil. I recommend yelling at me lots for updates if you think they aren't coming quick enough (meaning a small post to say "hey, hope your alive b/c this comic is made of awesome and win and i wish it to continue thanksverymuch for all your hard work for it" after 2-3 weeks of nothing).
Enjoy and check back sometime this week for another update/character section revamp!

I thought everyone would appreciate a new page instead of a page of excuses as to why I
didn't update. I really don't have one. More like college got in the way.

right. sorry for the lateness. beginning of spring break and not getting any sleep the
past week makes alex a very sleepy and lazy girl. right then.
we'll meet gem's best friend wednesday. i'll contact the winner sometime today and we'll discuss your prize so be on the look out. for those who entered, thanks sooo much! they were all great and it was really hard to decide which entry to pick because they were all freaking awesome. (i ended up having my sister and my dad help me pick because i couldn't chose just one.)

right then. so basically life sucked for me this past week and the suck-a-tude of it has
carried into this week. i basically ready for spring break to come. so sorry for the
crappy update. on saturday we'll return to our usual strip (kyle attempting to hit on gem)
and most likely you'll get a bonus strip where you'll meet Gem's BFF. I'm debating about
that because it all depends on if I want to cart my desktop home for the week or just
leave it here in my dorm. We'll see.
SO PLEASE GET YOUR ENTRIES IN and check back in on saturday for an actual comic.

you're lucky. because i was seriously considering just putting up a filler but then i sat
myself down and said no alex, you've got a pretty good fanbase now (47 people - thanks you
guys!) so you better give them what they want. so i did. gotta tell you though, i kind of
like it in the plain b&w with just the hair colored.
right then, so chuck and dan talk about gem, kyle gets upset that no one pays attention to him and off panel, gem has walked into the store, calling out for chuck. and kyle likes the look of gem. yup yup.
so next week gem is back and kyle tries to hit on him. then the fallowing week is the deadline for the contest (march12) so that saturday we'll meet gem's best friend. so that means get your entries in soon. details are up over at my dA (frayed1989 - watch me) or you could just go back two pages and see the details. right then. have an awesome weekend and see you wednesday!

an on time update! everyone say yay!
right then. sorry for the lack of color in this one. usually i do all the background colors in photoshop along with the text but because it's late, i have an 8 am class tomorrow and i wanted to get this up on time, i just did the text. i'll color it later if i remember.
anyways, gem and chuck are cousins, on their dad's side. they have similar noses and if gem didn't gauge his ears, they'd be cute and small like chuck's. yuppers. they're pretty close but not too close as they don't see each other that often. chuck is a fellow drop out like dan and he's only two months older than gem. yup yup. that's it.
oh! an take a shot at the contest please! i've got two entries (well one coming) but i do hope to get more. it shouldn't matter if you think you're the worst artist in the world, you still have a really good shot and winning so you should take it. okay? pretty please? with a cherry on top?

character page has been updated (but expect the dan/kyle/gem pics to change as one their designs have been updated since i drew them and two gem looks too young in his!)
working on another project, about a character of mine that's been roaming my head since 10th grade. expect stuff for that up sometime in the future.
keep your figures crossed for an update sometime before the weekend. wednesday i have an interview with borders plus its my mom's b-day. my dad's b-day is thursday and saturday we celebrate their b-day with the family. we'll see!
