I draw stuff more often than I like and less often than I should. Or maybe it's the other way around? Hm.

My name is pronounced el-ay-en-ar, like the letters L A N R spoken really fast.

Sometimes it takes us like three years to make good on a little detail from earlier in the story....

What's this?
I dunno, I think you did pretty well. And you drew bookcases! Those things kill me.
So he diminished into a bunny? I'm laughing. XD
@Z: Just missing her, I think.
A hit! Maybe?

The first panel is really cool. I like how you sorta combined the bullet's trail and the sound-effect.
You've done a lot with a very limited palette, it's kind of awesome and definitely fun to look at.
Man, that first panel is really pretty!
@Tomica26: Things that pockets are good for keeping in according to the little girl: keys, candy, interesting rocks and leaves, small animals, breakfast.
@Mochi_Zephlyn: Sorry about the sadness (but also, as an author, it's cool to hear that my story made you feel things. Thanks for letting me know)!

The tones we used for Momiko's mother's dress on this page are by rayedwards. (1|2)

We're back!
Opening up chapter five with another flashback to Momiko's childhood, taking place sometime after the one from last chapter.

You know that thing where you put on eyeliner, and then one side is a little bigger than the other so you try to even it out, and then the side that you evened out is bigger than the other, and then... yeah, I don't wear makeup much either, I haven't got the fine motor control for it. :P

Updates will resume on May 3rd. In the meantime, if anyone has questions or comments, I can be contacted here (via comment or private message) and on my art blog.

Thanks for reading, and see you in May!

End of chapter four.
Omake next week, then a two-month break before Chapter Five begins on May 3rd. In the meantime I'll probably post some stuff on my art blog.

I'm pretty excited for some things coming up in the next chapter - it'll finally be time to show off some of the earliest concepts Key and I came up with when we were planning Maria way back in, um, either 2011 or 2012, I forget which. There're probably dates on some of that old art, I'll figure it out.

Anyway, looking forward to getting to show that to you all. Thanks for reading!

Next-to-last page of the chapter!

This girl's name is Isono Hayama, or possibly Hayama Isono, I'm not actually 100% sure which is the family name. (Key should know.) Fun fact: she's usually in judo with Momiko when Chika is leaving school, but there's no judo today!
@emdanhan: Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it. ^^
Merry (second day of) Christmas!
There will be no new page this week - the holidays were very hectic this year and Key and I are taking a little break.

Hope you all had a great Christmas!
Heh, I think John's going to give Hannah a bit of scare what with the no-face thing. XD

Enjoyed reading through this again a lot! I liked the pacing a lot in the quieter, less action-oriented scenes. It feels a little slow/jerky in the action scenes (I think I have this problem too) but on the other hand, it's really easy to tell what's happening, so it's all good.

I haven't a clue who the real murderer is! There were a couple of people sort of hate-mongering in the pub, maybe one of them?

And I think it was right for Hemu to stick to his beliefs. If you let fear of being hurt by other people control you to the point of doing something you know is wrong ... I think that's really sad, it's like letting them control you. So, I think it was brave and right of him not to fight back.

BUT. I would like it if he thought about it and decided that it's actually not wrong to kick people's butts when they're beating you up.
