Hmmm. I haven't changed this profile since I was 16. Lets do this!
I got interested in making comics late 2005 while writing a failing(and rightfully so; it was awful) fanfiction. I've always been an artist, so putting the two hobbies together meant "comic," or more specifically, "webcomic."
I'd also started reading a certain FF7 doujinshi (Growth) by an artist called Enkida a little while earlier. When Growth moved to Smack Jeeves, it ended my short, but vigorous search for a decent host for my half-baked idea. Not only was I attracted to it's ease of use, but I was tickled pink by the idea of smacking the stereotypical butler.
My old fancomic is no longer up, but I have been getting into original work, such as "Arietta," a simple pet project, and "Gene Theory," a series. The writing isn't complete for either of them, but look out for the first installment of GT soon!
I've been told I'm a pretty funny person, but I've also been told that earwax tastes like candy. I can't write comedy if my ass depended on it, so I'm reluctant to place "humor" on anything.
Chapter two, finally. When I look at the old art I gag, but feel proud of the leaps and bounds of progress I've made in improving.
This page took so many forevers. I wanted to try out a new inking technique but I'm not sure if I like it. Also, fuck yo face, Chiyo! I couldn't get it right at all, but at least it's not doing that vaguely Sailor Moon-esque thing it was doing earlier.
Chiyo's outfit might be a little too... classy? Dressy? I dunno. I still have the raws so I may change it if I decide so later.
Instead of dropping a cover and calling it a week, I thought it would be a nice (super-late and kinda lame) birthday present for Graph to get the first page out as well!
I really wanted to get Chiyo's ground up nails in their, but I couldn't find a way where it didn't feel off. But here it is, the final page of chapter one, wow XD.
This page was a nightmare for so many reasons. It was originally more elaborate but then I was like, "GGRRaawwRR, this page is murdering me in the face!" Add Manga Studio being a jerk and hiding my tools, and I was set back really far.
I've had an awkward couple weeks, as well.
Sinister!Saiyuri might just be a figment of Chiyo's imagination.
I was going to save this for sunday to go with several other pages, but I hate just letting them sit there.
So as an explanation to this lengthy disappearance, during the month of December I had a painful but all around harmless injury in my drawing arm. It's fine now and I'm back!
I wanted be a bit more dynamic with the views on this page, but its a little blah! I gave Saiyuri's hair special attention. hopefully it all looks good.
