I often feel like I need more comic practice, so I set myself a little challenge - 3-page comics based on completely random 3-word prompts. I'm having friends pick the words from a list, but they're picking blind so I can't cheat and just pick easy things, and each mini-story must be complete - it must have a beginning, middle, and end.

This prompt was "bubbles, shunned, generosity," and it took forever but it was pretty fun to do. I've already got the next one lined up, but I'm definitely not setting any deadlines for myself because that's a great way for fun practice to become stressful work.

See you next time!
Recently some friends of mine started a fantastic new podcast called Roll to Breathe. It's an actual play podcast and their first campaign is Masks - a superhero tabletop similar to Teen Titans and Young Justice.

This is my take on Reversal's Moment of Truth.
If you like it, please check out the podcast at and maybe consider backing them on Patreon, where you can also hear my contribution to the Epyllion campaign.

Also, huge apologies for the shit state of the site - all the images are now being held hostage by Photobucket and I'm looking for a new host. Hopefully it won't take me too long to fix. =P
So here's the thing: I had this whole essay on why this comic needs a serious upgrade, plus three pages of the above comic update to try to explain why I feel the way I do, but... At the end of the day, this is what I've needed to do for years. I've had people tell me to do this and I didn't take them seriously because I was so set on seeing Amaravati through to the end as it is.

I've spent a few weeks doing completely different things while I mulled over how to make this announcement, and it's done me a world of good.
I love this story with all my heart, but I started it in high school, I aimed too high for what I was capable of, and I ultimately didn't reach my goal. That's ok! I learned a lot and I'll come back to it eventually, but for now I need to put it down, get some distance, and let it breathe. I'll come back to it later, when I can tell it right.

I've learned a lot since starting this comic and I can't thank any returning readers enough for your support.

That said, I also apologize to anyone who has come to this site in error, looking for information on the actual city of Amaravati. The title is a remnant of really lazy teenage non-planning and I've been wanting to change it for a couple years now - I just didn't know what to change it to. That will be something I fix when I return to the story. This site will remain up as an archive (and later will receive a new URL) but the new version will be posted on a new site with a new title that doesn't just scream cultural appropriation.

In the meantime, I've actually already got another project lined up, so if you're interested at all in my other work, please follow me at and/ or @TrinitySilph on Twitter for updates there.

Thank you so much again to anyone who's ever read this amateur beast, and I hope you'll take a look at my new projects.
This version of the volume 1 title page is brought to you by: "those feels when you just know you can do better but the old thing is staring you in the face, taunting you."
And just like that, chapter 4 is done.
That... was a really long haul.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I will be going on a little hiatus now so I can work on chapter 5 and rebuild my buffer. I don't have a timeline for that yet, but I'll be sure to post updates and whatnot when I have them.
I haven't nailed down any guest work just yet, but a couple people have expressed interest in creating some filler material, so you can also keep an eye out for that. =)

To stay up to date (and see the other stuff I'm working on) you can follow me at and .

I'm never sure how many of my page views come from bots and how many are from real people, but to anyone interested in this project: thank you so much for reading, and I'll see you soon.

Cheers! <3
Aaand scene change!
Check back next week for the chapter 4 finale. =3
Not gonna lie, I totally forgot to update this. It's been done for weeks and I still forgot. ... maybe that's why I forgot.
Oh well. xD

See you next week!
Aaand we're back.
But only for a couple months, I'm afraid. I will be taking another little break to get a buffer worked up for chapter 5, and the guest spots I mentioned will be going up while I get myself organized.

The good news is that we're almost to the end of chapter 4! This is really the end of an era for me - this is the last of the material I wrote back in Ye Olde Days, though it got the most editing. Chapter 5 was plotted out back then, but didn't really get any focus until last year.
And after this... Uncharted Territory.
It's all so exciting. >w>

See you next week!
Week one of the Guest Spot Bonanza goes to my friend Evelyna, aka UltearLight. I wasn't sure what a coffee shop AU would look like, when she mentioned it to me, but... this is pretty damn accurate. <3

You can check out more of Evelyna's work at
This "page" will be removed when updates resume. =)
If you've been following my news updates, you'll know this has to be the last update for a while. My buffer is completely shot and I can't order a replacement for my cintiq until tomorrow. I'll be getting a really nice upgrade, but it'll take some time before I can start working again.
Depending on how long it takes to get the tablet, plus any random variables... I estimate 2 - 3 weeks before I can start producing pages again.

As usual, I'll keep you posted.
The good news is that Wacom support did finally get back to me (a week later)... the bad news is that I'm probably going to need to replace a cable, and there's no way in hell that's happening quickly. Even if I can get the cable quickly, there's also the chance that the whole bloody thing still won't work and I'll have to replace the whole tablet. (Which, I mean, wouldn't be so bad, because then I could look into a Companion 2 and /man/ am I into that... but it's pricey as hell.)

As usual, I'll keep you posted.
Still no word from Wacom support (see front page news post) but I've figured out something that might work. I'll try it tomorrow and update when I know for sure.

See you next week!
My buffer is very nearly dead but I'm scrambling to fix it. Fingers crossed!

Probably the most accurate thing I've ever seen, right there. 'scuse me, gotta go smother my giggles in a pillow. xD

Actually remembered to set a future update! Hooray!

As you read this, I'm probably at work, smiling at customers like I'm paying attention but actually thinking about Pokemon's 20th anniversary.

See you next week!

Thanks so much! =D

I spent days on this page. DAYS.
The only bad thing about it is that now I have to recreate a GIANT BURNING WOLF on several other pages. It's harder than it sounds, especially when you're my divine combination of working all day and lazy. =P

See you next week!

One of these days I'm just gonna queue up a whole whack of pages so they go up on time... xD;;

Tune in next week for objectively the best page I've done since starting this thing way back in 2009. (I've been waiting to show it off for a long time. :P)

Here we go with week one of this whole "updating in the middle of the day instead of midnight" thing. I'm trying to figure out some little ways to make the comic more visible while I work on bigger things. Baby steps?
