Hey guys, didja miss me?
Anyway, I just thought I'd update and let you know where things stand.
The fact is that I couldn't have forced myself to keep going with the old Amaravati. There were too many flaws, artistically and story-wise, and I was far too caught up in Angel Wings (by the way, check it out at http://angelwings.smackjeeves.com ;)).
After a good deal of consideration and letting the story sit on the backburner for a bit, I've come up with a better version of the plot.
This time around, I'm doin things the right way. What does that mean, you ask? ...Umm... you know the first 11 pages I posted? Yeah...those are painted versions of my thumbnails. Yeah. No 'good copy', just straight from draft to ink to paint. I also didn't put much thought into the text or layout - I was really winging it. Sad huh? Anyway, this time I've scripted the whole first chapter (Whisper Man will now be a chapter rather than a prologue) and am working on thumbnails of each page before I go on to good copies. The plot, I'm happy to say, makes actual sense, and I think things will take longer now, rather than being so jumpy and quick. I've barely started and already Whisper Man is much longer than it was =3
I've also added a couple new characters (who will show up starting somewhere around chapter 3, I believe - I haven't scripted them in yet so I'm not sure) and updated some awkward relationships and outfits. Finally, the updated version will likely be in a classic manga style - all black and white with greyscale textures. *gasp!*

I'm not going to start the redux until the entire first chapter is done (for buffer room ;)) so I'll have to ask you to bear with me a little longer, but I think it'll be worth the wait. When I start, the original comic will be moved to a new page which will show up at the top of the page called 'Museum' so we can all still laugh at my early attempts. =3 Speaking of new pages, I'll likely post character references and descriptions as I work on the updates - keep an eye out! =D

Woot! No more prologue! =D And colour! Full colour! xD
And the character page is on the way - pay no attention to it's scrawny emptiness!

I meant to update this last friday, but stuff came up and came first, so I didn't get around to it.
For those of you interested in Amaravati, here's an update: The damn thing kept me up until 4:30 am the other night but there's finally a new, working plot and a few new characters to round out the story. It's much improved and I think I'll start working on proper pages within the week.
