A retired gunslinger extraordinaire/priest, I earned my mecha-wings by saving the Earth from certain peril in the face of a more definite peril. I later went on to invent Summertime. Occasionally prone to lying.

"I cast level 5 'Drink a Coke'. I roll a 3, and get it all over my shirt.
I cast level 4 'Something to do'. I roll a 2. I remain bored.
I put on my level 9 thinking cap. I hurl the dice at the guy opposite me and take out both his eyes. While he's writhing on the floor in agony I cast level 7 'Take wallet and run'."

Ah, the Old Ones…
Looks like I forgot to upload this one here! Sorry about that!
To avoid the same thing happening in the future though, bookmark the official site, which updates on schedule (usually) so you don't have to worry that maybe I'll get distracted by the squirrels running around outside my window (usually)!

If the phrase “Murderous Juggalo Clown” triggers an immediate and specific mental image, then yes: it’s the one you think.

And if that is the case, then you can easily imagine how terrifying that dream must have been. I still get chills at the thought.

This one went up late due to a couple of other projects eating into my comicdraw time as deadlines approached. And since I am a very responsible adult, I knew it would be prudent to focus on meeting those deadlines first and foremost, and catch up on the strip a little later in my spare time.

Also there was a magpie and a squirrel running around and chasing each other in the garden and I had to watch, because it was a magpie and a squirrel running around and chasing each other in the garden, but they just kept going, and so I was stood staring out of the window for so long, and I tried yelling at them to knock it off so I could get back to work but they didn’t stop at all so that was, like, a whole day down the toilet.
You sure can!
(It won't be manufactured for another decade however, so you may have to be patient!)

And the Citadel was an inspiration for those tower designs! More direct influence though was my internet router :P
@Clouds Begin Fail: Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm talking about! I wanted to give us clothes that didn't look exactly the same if there weren't the colour cues! (And also to actually draw clothing that didn't just look like those amorphous clothing-ish shapes :P)

Though it probably would make it easier if I was the type of person who could stick consistently to one kind of wardrobe… >>
¾ Assed Idea

Bleeergh, so I got back from visiting the states for the holidays, and was pretty dang addled by jetlag for a while. This sucked more than usual, since all the strips I have scripted out right now require much more work than usual, and coming up with a usable idea in time with my brain comprised mostly of indistinct mush was a tricky task. Evidently.

So, uh… Sorry.

Fun fact though, Swanky Pumpkin-Headed Dude was originally going to be a fairly creepy-looking giant cat, but I felt that it bore far too close a resemblance to Twisp for my liking (especially given the context). So naturally I switched it out for the only logical thing: a rather smashing pumpkin.

More Summertime Comics! Also first comic of the new year, hurrah!

Telling a tale of what happened deep in the heart of the year previous, naturally.

And okay, so the top of my head did actually get burned, but other than that I came out miraculously unscathed. An extremely unusual outcome, given that I could probably get sunburned from spending too long looking at a particularly tropical postcard.

Whewf! Finally restocked the archives over here at SmackJeeves; will continue to do so weekly from now on as originally intended — though you'll be able to find the next comic online on the official As You're Up website right now!

(So far behind on reading comics I have bookmarked through SmackJeeves, gonna have to catch up again when I get the time!)
Freudian Slit
And with that, my dream of getting my photo placed next to the definition of "One Suave Dude" in the dictionary became one step further away.

In other news, we have a new website! This is where As You're Up will be making its home from now on, so feel free to update your bookmarks or RSS syndication doodads if you use stuff like that to get yer comic fixin's to AsYoureUp.com!

Just a few notes right now:
We have no plans to stop posting the strips here on SmackJeeves too; that'd be a bit of a dick move to anyone who did prefer to get their updates that way! (The official site will be taking priority though, so if for some reason there's only ever enough time to update in one place, it'll be there.)
It'll hopefully be more pleasant to view and comment/reply on in general, at any rate (and won't be so cluttered with ads for those not logged in)!

So yeah, AsYoureUp.com! It's a thing now!
@RetroDog: I considered a third, but decided that would just be unrealistic :P

@twilightdragonite: I just consider it conditioning for when I'm over there for an actual summer-summer, with humidity and a heat index of 'Run for it' XD

@Gibson Twist: I was trying for ages to carefully get the eyes just the right kind of sorrowful... then I smudged while I was inking and it turned out exactly how I wanted!
Yay, happy accidents! X3

@Clouds Begin Fail: Haha yeah, guess I have gone through quite the wardrobe change over the course of the comic, huh? XD When I started drawing the clothes in a slightly more detailed style (basically not just rough, clothe-shaped... shapes!) I wanted to better reflect the kinds of clothes Cam and I would usually wear. At the time, that was generally t-shirts and shirts respectively (though since then I think Cam may have become a shirt-fellow, and since Texas I've taken to short sleeve tees again).

Overall though I wanted to keep the clothing consistent — even if the hairstyles aren't! — and didn't want to have us wearing the same things.

Because that would just be awkward
I Come From the Land of the Ice and Sleet
It's that time again, where I document some of the fantastic happenings of my recent away-go to the United States!

It actually wasn't as hot there as I'd feared it might be, largely due to the fact it hadn't properly rained at all for 8 straight months. Which was fortunate for me, but presumably not so much so for anyone in the area who happened to like water.

I will say this though: arriving there wearing two jackets was totally worth it just to beat the carry-on baggage restrictions!
I am crafty like 10 foxes.

Also I fixed my blog, which apparently wasn't showing some of the later posts I'd made, so now there's a fair amount of stuff to go check out!
@brumagem: Drats! Can't believe I missed that, thanks for pointing it out; fixed now!
