Happy Friday, everybody. Finally, I’m uploading an actual page of the comic. A lot of things took up my time since I posted a page on May 10th. The illustration of the 1965 Corvette was very time-consuming and I also created the artwork used on the award plaques for the Kunkel Cruise-In.

After that, my wife and I took a much-deserved vacation trip to Decorah, Iowa. It’s a beautiful town steeped in Norwegian culture and heritage. It isn’t your typical tourist town, but we enjoyed our stay. One of the main reasons we went was to see the Bald Eagles that nest near the Decorah Fish Hatchery. Bald Eagles are making a comeback here in Indiana, so Kathy and I have become interested in our national bird.

No sooner than we returned home, my wife’s brother and sister-in-law arrived from Anchorage, Alaska for a five-week stay. A lot of time was spent with her family as visits are not all that frequent when so many miles separate us.

Now, I can get back to Danielle Dark. The poor woman has been standing in her parlor for months, waiting for me to let her continue the story. I’ve kept you waiting, too. Thanks for your patience and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. It has been a long time since I updated the comic. Too long, actually.
I won’t go into details or make any lame excuses, but I have been very busy. Rest assured, I have been working on the comic and a new page will be coming soon. In the meantime, here is an illustration I did for a local car show. The annual event raises money for ALS research and this year the organizers presented a check for $28,000 to MDA. Not bad for a small town car show.

The Kunkel Cruise-In held its 20th anniversary car show this year and I was asked to do an illustration of Dave Kunkel’s 1965 Corvette. The car show is in memory of Dave Kunkel, who succumbed to ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The illustration was used on the event’s t-shirts and on the award plaques. It was an honor to make the illustration.

I hope everyone is in good health and have had a wonderful summer. As always, thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. There probably won’t be a Danielle Dark page for a few weeks. I have been asked to make a color illustration of a 1965 Corvette for an up-coming car show. This year will be the 20th annual Dave Kunkel Cruise-In, in Wabash, Indiana. This event raises money for ALS research. Dave Kunkel, who fell victim to this terrible disease, owned the Corvette I will be illustrating. It is a beautiful car and has been meticulously maintained by its new owner.

I volunteer my services to this car show by designing the award plaques and promotional material. It will be a real treat to have the opportunity to illustrate Dave’s car.

I have a filler in mind and will post that, if I am able. Until the comic resumes, thanks for your patience and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. It’s been a long day, so I’ll keep this short. Danielle doesn’t frighten easily, but she is definitely spooked right now. Has she really been transported to her former home from the 1850s, or is this an illusion?

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. Time, once again, to check in on Danielle Dark. The portal in the forest is just as powerful as Talia said. Danielle has been transported to another place. But is that place what it appears to be?

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody.

Danielle has just opened her eyes.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I really tried to have a page done but I guess I got over ambitious. The page has turned out to be more time-intensive than I thought. With that said, here is a filler that sums up how I feel about daylight savings time. Danielle and I had just gotten used to the idea of the sun rising as the work day started. Now I am back to driving to work in the dark again.

Oh well. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. February is finally behind us. I, for one, am ready for warm weather. Hopefully Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction of an early spring is on target.

Danielle is about to have an unusual experience. Will this help her or push closer to the edge?

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I hope you had a good week.

Danielle is showing signs of doubt and concern about what may be ahead. Given her past actions, one has to wonder what Talia is up to. And what is in that bottle?

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I hope you survived the Polar Vortex. Our furnace decided to stop working the day before it got really cold. The service man was able to get it working again, but we’re going to replace it next week. I don’t want to run that risk again.

Danielle is having some misgivings about what might be in store for her. She wants to trust her friend but she can’t shake the feeling something bad is about to happen.

Have a great weekend, stay safe and warm and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday and Happy New Year, everybody. Indiana is bracing for a winter storm headed our way from the west. The snow is forecast to begin at 4:00 a.m. Saturday with heavy accumulation predicted. Our snow blower has already had a couple workouts earlier this week and it will see action again this weekend. States west of us are already dealing with the winter weather, so we have an idea of what to expect.

Danielle doesn’t look like she knows what to expect from the portal Talia has led her to. Being stuck in her vampire state has been unsettling for Danielle, to say the least, and she is doubtful of her friend’s ability to help. Talia seems confident about a favorable outcome.

If the winter storm hits your area, I hope you are safe. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. It’s Christmas time and it has been making me feel nostalgic. Instead of making a new Christmas filler, I’ve decided to rerun the filler from 2007. On this day eleven years ago, I posted this picture of Danielle and her friend, Talia, having some fun in the snow. I thought it turned out great eleven years ago and I still like it today. I hope you do, too.

As usual, I am taking a break from the comic over the holidays. I plan to resume posting new pages on January 18. Until then, enjoy time with you family and friends, stay safe and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Happy Friday, everybody. Another week is behind us and we are heading for Christmas and the end of the year at a rapid pace. I hope everyone is ahead of the game because I haven’t bought the first Christmas gift yet. I haven’t gone into a panic, but I have no idea what I’m going to get for my wife.

Danielle and Talia are walking deeper into the state forest and toward things unknown. Talia is happy enough but Danielle is wary.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. Thanksgiving was yesterday, and my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful turkey dinner at my sister’s house. Kathy and I feel like we have a lot to be thankful for. Late last year, Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer. The surgery was successful and was followed with twenty-two radiation treatments. Kathy will be on hormone blocking medication for the next ten years to help ward off any recurring tumors.

In May, Kathy had a colonoscopy. We were happy that no abnormalities were found. This was scary for me because Kathy’s mom died of cancer that started in her colon. We both heaved a sigh of relief when the report came back negative.

Two weeks ago, Kathy had the first of a special stereoscopic mammogram. Once again, the news was all good. These mammograms will be done every year and there will also be periodic examinations to make sure Kathy remains cancer-free. She is doing well and is in great spirits. We couldn’t be happier.

Now, on to Danielle. Danielle is still in her vampire state. Talia has taken Danielle to a forest about one hundred miles north and east of Indianapolis to visit a mystical place. It is supposed to be a journey of self discovery. It remains to be seen how well things will turn out.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I apologize for not updating last week and for the single panel this week. This is a partially completed first panel of the next page. I haven’t been able to spend as much time on the comic as I would like. I have been busy getting things around the house ready for the fast-approaching winter. Hopefully, I will get back to a more normal schedule in the near future.

I hope you have a great weekend and a happy Thanksgiving day next Thursday. As always, thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Halloween, everybody!
Happy Friday, everybody. I can hardly believe October is half over. Cold weather has already been teasing us here in Indiana. And, of course, our furnace has picked now to act up. I shouldn’t complain. At least it isn’t freezing temperatures yet. The repairs will cost about $300 and the parts will be in early next week. Oh well.

Danielle has gone to Talia for help for her predicament. Talia wants to take a hike. What’s that all about?

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. It’s hard to believe it’s October already. At my job, I’m already beginning to work on projects for 2019. Where does the time go?

Danielle may be a strong woman, but she’s scared. Now she’s gone to Talia for help. Quite a change from her behavior the night before.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Saturday, everybody. Sorry I’m a day late, but life just doesn’t want to cooperate with me. Nothing major, just little distractions and obstacles.

Danielle is in trouble. How much trouble remains to be seen. Normally, she reverts to human appearance in the morning, even after a busy night of neck biting. But not today. Why is this happening and how long will it last?

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. After a long break, Danielle Dark is back. My wife and I enjoyed an extended visit from her brother and sister-in-law. They drove their motorhome from Anchorage, Alaska to our home in Indiana. The last time we saw them was at Christmas six years ago. They have since made a safe return trip to Alaska and life around here is returning to normal.

Things haven’t returned to normal for Danielle. After her violent visit to Johnny Taglia and a few bites to eat on her way home, Danielle got a few hours of sleep. The rest didn’t wipe away all reminders of the previous night, something that has surprised and worried Danielle. Maybe she enjoyed herself a little too much.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
