Happy Friday, everybody! It’s great to be able to post an new page. Well, a new filler, anyway. Danielle was quite the fashion plate in the early 1950s when she lived in New York City. I think it would be fun to do more fillers with Danielle dressed in period clothing. What do you think?

I am happy to say that my wife is doing very well. Today she had her eighteenth radiation treatment. Kathy has three more scheduled treatments. After that, she will have periodic examinations to determine if the treatments have done their job. All indications at this time is for a successful outcome.

The treatments started to have a tiring effect on Kathy after the second week of radiation. I’m sure the daily trips to and from the hospital contributed to the fatigue. Kathy has been such a trooper though this whole event. Her positive attitude and strong will has been inspiring. She is quite a lady, and to be married to her makes me the luckiest guy in the world.

Many of you have expressed your concern for Kathy, and she and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
Happy Friday, everybody. And it is, indeed, a very happy Friday. My wife had breast cancer surgery two weeks ago and had a tumor and some surrounding tissue removed. The surgeon also removed some of Kathy’s lymph nodes for testing. The lymph nodes were found to be cancer-free, and so was the surrounding tissue. Today we learned that the type of cancer Kathy has is of low risk for recurring. While she won’t need to have chemotherapy, my wife will be receiving radiation treatments five days week for four weeks. This will make my work schedule a bit hectic because the hospital is an hour’s drive away. I don’t care. That’s a small price to pay to make sure Kathy gets the treatments she needs.

I am also very happy to post this wonderful filler courtesy of Dragonaur. If you aren’t familiar with Dragonaur’s work, be sure to check out the links below. Both comics are great!

I’ll try to post a filler and an update when ever I can, but between a full-time job and daily trips to the hospital, I’ll be busy for a while.

Thanks for your patience, and as always, thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
I usually post a Christmas themed page this time of year before taking a couple weeks off before resuming the comic after the New Year has begun. Unfortunately, updates may be a bit sporadic for a few weeks or, perhaps, a few months.

On Monday, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Last week, Kathy had a biopsy which turned out to be positive. She is scheduled to be seen by a oncology specialist next Tuesday. At that time we will find out what the next step will be. The biopsy has shown Kathy has DCIS, or Ductal Carcinoma In Situ. The one upside to her diagnosis is this sort of cancer has a very high cure rate, and the tumor was found at an early state. For that, I am very thankful. Regardless, cancer treatment can be physically taxing, so I know there will be some difficult times ahead.

Please be patient with me in this trying time. Kathy is a strong-willed lady, and she has an incrediblly positive attitude. I am a very lucky guy to have her in my life.

Thank you for your readership, and I look forward to getting back to a regular update schedule.
Happy Friday, everybody.

I really wanted to get a page done this week, but it was not to be. The month of November has been a busy one for me. Between my wife’s birthday on the 7th, an early Thanksgiving dinner with part of my family on the 11th, my mom’s 90th birthday on the 18th and another Thanksgiving dinner on the 23rd, I’m lucky to have been able to get anything done.

This filler is just part of the first panel of the upcoming page. I had hoped to get the entire first panel completed, but I’m trying to get this uploaded before dinner. I think it’s turning out pretty good, but it should look better when I get all the highlights and shadows put in.

For those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you had as good a time with your families and friends as I did. Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody.

Danielle has a unique way of waking people up and getting them out of bed. But now that Taglia is up, what does Danielle have in store for him?

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody.

Danielle has made good on her revenge. But how far will she take it?

The contractor finished the work on our new fence and flower bed retaining wall. My wife is very happy with the completed project. I’m happy that my repairs to the pool seem to have done the trick. The pool is nearly filled to winter level and no apparent water loss. Good news, indeed. Too bad I won’t get to enjoy it until next summer. Oh well.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I’m sorry about having two fillers in a row. I am in the process of remodeling a bathroom and repairing a leaking in-ground swimming pool, so real life has gotten in the way of the comic. Fortunately, both projects will be completed by the end of this coming week. I am taking next week as vacation from work to finish all the work on both projects. Actually, the pool only has about two days of work left and the same goes for the bathroom. I think I’ll actually have time to make a new page for next week.

Until then, have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday everybody.

No new page today. Sorry, but it has been a busy week of work on and around the house. Oh, the joys of home ownership. Anyway, here is a filler. You may recognize this picture of Danielle from the previous post. You can’t see her very well in that page. I thought she turned out pretty good and I wanted you to see her a little better. I think I’m starting to get the hang of drawing on the Cintiq, but I know I still have a lot to learn.

On a side note, my thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey. When I think of the lives lost and turned upside down, any problems I feel I may have are tiny and of no consequence. A lot of wonderful people have left there homes to help those who lost theirs. Whether you live in the devastated areas or not, we all owe these heroes a hearty “Thank you.”
Happy Friday, everybody.

Despite the persistent inquiries of Detective Nichols, Danielle has gone to the federal penitentiary in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. True to her word, Danielle has teleported into the maximum security block, searching for the scent of James Selvaggio’s blood, which she placed on the letter to Johnny Taglia.

Whenever Danielle teleports, her destination always looks out of focus for a a couple seconds before snapping into sharp focus. Danielle is in an ethereal form, so she is all but invisible to any onlooker. At best, she would look like a thin wisp of smoke. I’ve used some artistic license so we can see her. As for the red lighting, that’s just how things look to Danielle when she is in full vamp mode.

It’s late at night and Johnny Taglia is about to get a wakeup call like he’s never had before.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Saturday, everybody. Sorry this page is a day late.

James Selvaggio’s letter, written with a little influence from Danielle, has finally been delivered to Johnny Taglia. He doesn’t appear to be very happy with what he’s reading.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I can’t believe the year is half over. This first six months flew by. I hope you all have been able to enjoy this summer so far. Here in Indiana, we have been having more than our share of rain, today being no exception. At least the forecast for tomorrow is a bit drier.

Danielle must have been doing some thinking after her conversation with Detective Nichols. With him nosing around and keeping an eye on her, Danielle is going to have to be extra careful. The question is, why didn’t the detective lose all recollection of the night he was bitten? He remembers Danielle saying she was a vampire, but does he believe it? Will he eventually remember everything? These are enough questions to keep any vampire awake at night.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody.

Danielle’s day is turning out to be more and more unpleasant. Detective Nichols is starting to ask questions Danielle would rather be left alone. Dani is less than happy.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. No comic this week. I’ve been working on a couple freelance projects. I was able to squeeze in a quick filler. Danielle looks good in blue jeans, but I’m not sure her expression makes her look very approachable.

I hope to be able to have a new page in a couple weeks. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. Another week has come and gone. Here in the USA, we are gearing up for Memorial Day Weekend. While people start thinking about kicking off the summer season with cookouts and fun at the beach, we also take time to remember the members of our military who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Detective Nichols is pressing Danielle in his attempt to solve the mystery that surrounds her. Just how close to the truth will he get?

Have a great and safe weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. Danielle is probably sorry she ever met Detective Nichols. He is definitely making her life a bit difficult. Danielle has plans for a certain mobster and the attention of a police detective is the last thing she needs.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
I know this page is two days late. I was going to post it on Friday, but I decided I wasn’t happy with four of the panels. I always pick my own work to pieces, but I just couldn’t let this page go without reworking it. I’m happier with the page now. The second panel was the only one I didn’t rework.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend. In the morning, a new work week begins. Oh well. Gotta pay the bills.

Thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I hope everyone has had a good week. I took a week of vacation to bask in the joys of home ownership. Translation - my wife and I are painting kitchen and dining room. Well, at least we have started the project. I’ve had to repair two areas of drywall in the kitchen ceiling. Apparently, there were some recessed lights in the kitchen that were removed by the previous owners. The patch job they did was less than spectacular, so I decided to fix them. Everything is patched, the drywall compound is ready for sanding and priming and painting can begin. Those home improvement shows on TV always make it look like these things can be done in a few minutes. Wrong. Still, my wife and I are happy with the progress, and we will have a brighter looking kitchen and dining room when we are done. Yeah, done. Just in time for all the outdoor work that comes with warm weather. Like I said, the joys of home ownership.

Anyway, it’s Friday. Time for another look at what Danielle is up to. Thanks for reading.
Happy Friday, everybody. I don’t have a new page to upload this week. I have purchased a Cintiq 13HD tablet and I’m trying to get the hang of it. I really like being able to draw directly on the screen, but it is showing me just how out of practice I am with pen and ink. For years, I have been drawing with a mouse using Adobe Illustrator and that has gotten me used to a disconnected sense of eye-hand coordination. Despite what Wacom says about how their non-glare glass being very close to the feel of drawing on paper, I am, after more than a week, just now getting used to the experience.

I don’t think I will abandon Illustrator for Photoshop, but I will be using both applications together much more than I have in the past. With that in mind, Danielle Dark will be getting a slightly different look in the coming months. It may take me a while to settle on a technique.

I’ve done quite a few experiments, but this image is my favorite, so far. I hope you like it.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody, and Happy Saint Patrick’s Day, too. I didn’t have anything of the appropriate color to wear today, so I put a green Sharpie in my shirt pocket. Problem solved.

Danielle has left the coffee shop in a huff. Detective Nichols probably isn’t the person she wanted to run into. It just isn’t her day.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
Happy Friday, everybody. I don’t know about you, but I am glad to see February behind us. The first day of March seems like a major step from winter toward spring.

Danielle continues to be faced with unpleasant truths, and she is none too pleased with this. Like they say, the truth hurts.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
