I've actually considered building a buffer -- or rather, considered such when I was elbows deep in other stuff and suddenly remembered "oh crap, I have to draw a webcomic page". Though it was too little too late this time, I'd like to try and start one in case it happens again. I had one for quite a while on my last webcomic, and it worked pretty smoothly!

Sorry AGAIN for missed update, it was more paid work. But it's (basically) done now so if I miss next update I will eat my own head off my neck.
