Yoenai
Hi, welcome to my webcomic zone!

I'm qualified in multimedia design and conception, and plan to enter a comic school.

Drawing is nearly a meaning of life to me and I'd really like to become better in that field.

Oh, and I'm Swiss, thus I don't speak english very well - I speak french normally.

Right in the feelings
Did I mention I love stories that begin with a sad intro? :D
Page 9
Hi folks! I'm back to drawing humans again - feels better than scribbling buildings. XD
Page 8
From this page, the colored versions are reserved for the printed comic book (to come...).

The background took me waaay too long. XD
End of scene 1
Well, this pannel's the last of this first scene. The next one is story-boarded and I hope to start next page's sketch today.

By the way I hate drawing curvy lines with ink, it's such a pain, even with a special curvy ruler. XD

Experimenting with colors. Still need to make adjustments on the previous pages.
Page 4
Right in time for Christmas! :D

A new page with a new format (bigger) and a new color selection. I will re-color the previous ones gradually.
Page 3
Did anyone read the first version of this comic?
Page 2
Finally, the second page is out! The next 4 pages are sketched and in inking process.

I'm not sure about the colors, I might change them later.

Finally, the first page is out!

Google maps helped me a bit for the highway. Indeed, it's actually a real highway in New York - roads 46 and 95. I chose a portion that was interesting to represent.

Drawing cars and roads... that's not quite my stuff, so don't worry, there will be people on the next pannel. ;)

Technically, I ink my pannel with chinese ink, and then I "photoshop" the text and the colors. By the way, at first I wanted it to be black & white, the "manga" way, but now I'm starting to reconsider it... Maybe I'll do everything in color.
Temporary cover
Dear readers, it has been a long time. I'm starting the comic again.

I won't be quicker, I'm afraid, but at least I improved my skills since last time...

If you want quicker news, have a look at the comic's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/athellsgatecomic
I upload stuff more regularily there - sketches, concept designs etc.

I hope you'll like the new version. ;)

By the way, this page won't be the real cover, in fact it's the drawing of the chapter's listing page. :x

See you next time and take care ~

Facebook page for AHG
Okay guys, now I decided to past cross my aversion for Facebook's copyright law and finally created a page for "At Hell's Gate" :

https://www.facebook.com/athellsgatecomic

Feel free to follow, as I will post a lot of things I won't put on smackjeeves, such as sketches, illustrations and step-by-steps.

I should thus keep smackjeeves only for covers, a few illustrations and the comic. I thus might suppress some pages where sketches were, since they won't be no longer necessary.

Those who followed the comic for a while know I'm very slow at drawing pages (like everybody I have jobs I must do first before I can have fun with personal projects), but the facebook page will be filled way more often I promise. :)

See you there
Hi everybody, long time no see!

I'm not dead and I dindn't abandon the comic either (ok yes but just a bit ^^'). Some important things happend and I didn't have the time to draw for my personal projects: I got my comics bachelor at the ESA St-Luc in Brussels, then I had some work experiences until my temporary - but "real" - job I have now.

I moved twice, worked on projects for friends (for example Shin and June, the authors of Ephemeral, a yaoi webcomic: www.ephemeral.com - their new website I built will soon be online), enjoyed life, well... not much time to draw.

But now, I really miss drawing for "my own". Drawing is like a drug, after a few weeks I need my dose. XD So I decided to force room in my planning to have time to start "At Hell's Gate" again. Since I work at 60% I should make it. :D

Because yes, I'm starting it again, not with a whole new plot of course, but with a new beginning. I'm not convinced with the work I've done so far on the scenario, so I've found a new and better introduction for my story.

My drawing style has also improved with the time and I want to make a better comic for this project. I must wait, though, until I have made enough storyboard pages before I start. X)

Anyway, here's a warmup sketch I made today. On thing I've learnt in Brussels is that to make a good comic you HAVE to take references, espetially if the story takes plot in our world and in our era. So the building at the top is the New York Presbyterian Hospital. I found its name and architectural look perfect for the story.

I hope I'll be able to show you a first page soon. I'm eager to start again. ^^ And I must say I'm impressed I still have so many followers even though I left for 11 months. I really want to show you new and better stuff guys. Just be patient. ^^' I'm very slow and I always want to do tons of stuff at the same time. lol Ah, these artists...

So, see you soon and take care ~
Thank you, I'm glad you understand. ^^ Be sure I won't forget this comic, though. I'm working on next page's tones already.
I'm alive
Hi everybody,

This comic is not on hiatus, not at all. I've just finished inking the next page.

I've been inactive for so long because something important happened in my life and well, when things like these happen to you, you just can't help but enjoy them as much as you can.

Thus, I'm working on this comic again and I won't abandon it so soon. ;)

Take care ~
Behind the screen
Hi everybody,

I wanted to make a "tutorial" like this one for a long time. Since I didn't post anything since last month, I thought it was a good idea to make it now. :D

Anyway, I've been working on next page: the sketch's done and only waits to be inked. :)

Hope you liked this little distraction. ;D See ya next time!
Thanx!
> Critical: Thanks, glad you like it! ^^

> Dragon Noir: Des trucs mignons, parfois, ça fait du bien. ^^'
Thank you!
Hi fellow mortals,

I would like to thank you again for +100 fans! ^^ Seriously, it makes me so happy! *hugs*

I know I had started another pic for the +100 fans thanks, but I'm more confident with drawing on paper, so this one was ready sooner than the other one that I was doing entirely on Photoshop. Anyway, I hope you like this one! ^^
First finished teaser
Hi everybody,

I've spent a lot of time on this illustration, I wanted it to be really good - well, as good as I could do it, I'm not a pro yet. :D I hope you like it! ^^

I didn't start sketching the next page and don't know if I'll do it this week (would be good though, I'm working too slowly on this comic ^^'). Next week, I'm going to a big trip to Australia and I'll stay there four weeks, thus you may not see anything new during a month. I'm thinking about making planified publications on Smackjeeves that would come out while I'm abroad, though. It would only be sketches, but still something.

Anyway, take care of yourself and see you soon. ;3
Little inked picture
Hello everybody,

I took some time to relax and draw this picture, now that I've finished the biggest part of my last school project. I've been working a lot on that stuff so I'm really tired of it now. ^^'

Well I know there are a lot of anatomy probelms on this pic but I admit I don't care a lot for once. XD Just needed to draw something I like. Hope you like it, though.

Anyway, in five days I'm on holiday, thus I'll be able to work on next page! ^^ Be patient!

See ya soon and take care.
Hi everybody
I just wanted to tell you I'm not uploading any new page beacause I'm revising for this year's final exams. They start next week and last two weeks. After that, I'll have to work hard for our final comic project.

So well, sorry to make you wait - be sure that I'd prefer working on this comic rather than revising. I think it will take me a month or more untill I can make a new page in this comic. I'll try to do small illustrations meanwhile to help you wait. ^^

See ya and take care.
