Chel Sartorus is a delinquent, a negligent student, a scoundrel, and a genius inventor. Living in North Axia, however, makes his gift a curse, as science and truth are strictly regulated by the high order of Lindbergh. As one of the faithful subjects of the great diety Lindbergh, Chel has come to a certain harmony of mind between his religion and his scientific principles. So when his once-devout friend Anara suddenly renounces her faith and sets out on a journey to the other side of the world, Chel must struggle to make her see reason, all the while, coming close to his own realization of the obscured truth.
