This has happened a couple of times, but when I go to edit my account profile the AIM field fills itself out with my username.

It's easy to just simply clear the field but sometimes it gets annoying.

It doesn't do that for me o: What browser are you using? Is it possible that you have information saved for AIM fields from some other site, and it's getting auto-filled in by your browser like other forms?

I'm using Chrome and I haven't used AIM since 2009 butttt I think I figured out why it keeps doing that after fiddling around with cookes and saved passwords.
The saved passwords' autofill function treats the "username" in "AIM username" field as the username field for the login page, so after removing them the problem went away.
I guess there's nothing I can do about it except delete my saved login credentials and memorize my passwords better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That seems very weird D8 You shouldn't have to do that. The aim field isn't even marked as a username field, so Chrome's definitely overreaching there in thinking it's a username :V Firefox also does auto-complete like that, but it doesn't mistake the AIM field for a username field.

I guess an interim fix for SJ would be to remove "username" from the label. Ooor just remove AIM (and ICQ) entirely since hardly anyone uses it (and MSN Messenger is defunct).
