making changes to the navigation arrows on comic pages

Postby shades guy » January 26th, 2018, 9:58 pm

I really want to learn how to change the color of the navigation arrows on the comic pages, and maybe replace them with different images. I've tried and tried to find threads that explain it in a way I can understand, but I haven't had any luck.

So now exactly can you change the color on the navigation arrows, and also how do you replace them with different images (something other than a simple arrow)?

It would help if you linked to the comic in question, since the details of the arrows depend on the specific template.

If your layout uses raster (as opposed to vector) images for the arrows, you can't easily change the colours. You'd need to create new recoloured arrows, upload the images somewhere, and then replace the URLs for the current arrows with yours.

The arrows are defined in the Comic Page template. Look for {NAV_NEXT} and you'll probably find four arrows near each other.
The code will probably look something like this:
Code: Select all
<a href="{NAV_FIRST}"><img src="first arrow URL" alt="First"></a>
<a href="{NAV_PREV}"><img src="previous arrow URL" alt="Previous"></a>

<a href="{NAV_NEXT}"><img src="next arrow URL" alt="Next"></a>
<a href="{NAV_LAST}"><img src="latest arrow URL" alt="Previous"></a>

Replace the URLs in the img tags with the URLs for your custom images. There may be two sets of arrows, make sure you replace them all.
