menu banner fail

Postby mosama » December 6th, 2009, 10:01 pm

idk if its just the type of layout i have, but it wont let me put in my own banner image for the main banner displayed by the menu. It puts in the normal small banner thats used for advertising which its supposed to, but i wanted to put in a new bigger one and i failed horribly.

Im using the Blue Jimmy template, and all the HTML stuff for the menu related things is under menu, i tried messing around with the HTML in this menu html and i messed stuffs up o.o any help would be appretiated.

The image im trying to put into the top menu part is this(the url atleast) -> http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e236/ ... 1260154226

Spoiler! :
<!-- ABOUT: This menu section covers the entire top banner, which allows the navigation to be split around the banner. You can modify the color of the banner by changing the menu-wrapper style above. NOTE: BECAUSE THE LIST IS SPLIT THE TEMPLATE DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY ADD IN CUSTOM LINKS. YOU NEED TO ADD THEM MANUALLY BY ADDING IN "<li><a href="/YOURCUSTOMPAGEURL/">YOURCUSTOMPAGENAME</a></li>" -->

I checked out the "Blue Jimmy" template and I saw the banner image is incorporated into the menu section of the template. So, instead of trying to modfy the overall layout go to menu. Then I'd try out a few things and see what will happen. The piece of the code in beetween the links is out image. I'd cut it all out and put in there the piece of code from another template like the "top banner" one. Then U just change the url and voila! It should work. If not then try to change just pieces of the code beetween the links. The html language seems transparent enough to me to be alble to handle it. Just try things out unless U get what U want. This is how I manage my own template.
