Requesting a small template change.

Postby diceknight » October 12th, 2011, 11:23 am

The SJ Wiki doesn't seem to be up, and I've played around with this for some time to no avail. So I hate to ask it; but I think I need a hand. >.> HTML stuff makes my head spin, especially with the global formats. I know that they make things easier to manage and update, but my old man noggin has a hard time getting around them.

If you take a look at the top and bottom of each comic page; there's the various social network icons. I'd like to remove them, and replace them with a simple one underneath the comic solely for promoting the comic's facebook page. I'd use the imported Facebook badge, possibly with a short tagline beside that says "Like WootLabs on FB," or something similar. I know it's not a very extensive change, but I've tinkered and failed with making it.

If anyone could give me a hand it'd be much appreciated; I can copy/PM you my current HTML settings if needed. Thanks!

In your Comic Page template, look for something like {SHARE_THIS_COMIC} and replace that with your Facebook link.

I can't tell you what code to use for Facebook since I don't know what you're trying to do exactly. If you're using some Facebook feature, it should give you the link. If you want to make your own:
Code: Select all
<div class="facebooklink"><a href="your URL on facebook"><img src="URL of your image on Photobucket or something" alt="{SITE_NAME} on Facebook"></a></div>

The div tags around it are just in case you want to style the thing with CSS later.

Thank you very much, Eishiya! :)

I was just planning on using the Facebook badge it provides; but I like the idea of making a custom one for it better. Thank ye kindly!
