Self-Promotion Rules

    1) You may make ONE thread per comic. Not a new thread every month, not a new thread every bump, not a new thread for each author of the comic. ONE thread. That's it.

    2) You may bump once a month. A "bump" is when you post in your own thread in order to send it to the top of the topic listings. The initial topic, updates, news, contests, and all other types of promotional information count as bumps. Also, if your comic has multiple authors, your thread is not entitled to multiple bumps (i.e. one from each author).

    3) One conversational response per day. You may make one post per day in response to new comments left by visitors to your thread. Again, if your comic has multiple authors, your thread is not entitled to multiple thread responses (i.e. one from each author). If necessary, pick a single spokesperson for your Self-Promotion thread.

Can I promote YOUR comic on Youtube?

Postby Exploring Comics » September 5th, 2019, 2:14 pm

Hello!! My name is Alkyone and I have a Youtube channel where I explore (review and promote) a variety of indie comics! :D :D

I did not find a better category to post this topic, so here it is.

Just send me a link to your comic and I will feature your comic in one of my videos (and post my video on Twitter afterwards, where I can tag you if you have Twitter, or on Instagram). It would actually help me a lot if you could also include the genres of your comic and other social media you might have (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr or Patreon/Ko-fi/Paypal), which I can link in the description of the video.

I am doing this for free. I ask nothing in return but your patience until I post the video!

My Youtube channel is here: ... 6i98LKdngw
My Twitter account is here:
My Instagram account is here:
I have a Facebook fan page here: ... 069271858/

If for whatever reason you don't want to write your comic to me in this thread, you can send me a link in any of my social media. ;) 8-)

Wow this is so kind of you! I see no one's taken a whack at it so I'll be the first to give it a go!

My webcomic is Black Flame Academy. ( ) and I've been writing and rewriting the story for the last 10 years and now I'm finally at a point in my art and writing that I'm confident to work on it.

On the surface, it's a story about a high school of human/animal hybrids, but the prologue suggests something more sinister is lying in the background. As of now the prologue and most of the first chapter have been released, and I'm currently working on the rest of chapter 1. It follows a boy named Iroku Mitake (Me-tah-kay is how his last name is pronounced, Japanese pronunciation) and his rocky path through high school and life in general after losing his father 5 years ago. Many people hail his father as a hero, but he himself can't see it considering what it was like living with him, and how devastated his mother is.

I'm all for reader involvement, and I love discussing my characters and universe. I do ask that my audience is patient with me, however, as I'm a mom and work full time, so updates might be a bit...weird. But, the more people are talking about it, the more excited I am and the faster the updates come out. I do want to make this a full time thing eventually.

I really want to thank you for the opportunity! I'm super terrible at getting the word out about things so I really hope this helps. ;w; My characters and universe are my passion project and I really want to see it through after working on it in the background for so long!

I was wondering if anyone was ever going to respond here!
I had made another topic (for this reason) in another comic forums, and I have gotten so many responses there... I've actually started reading their comics and will shortly upload videos with them. :D

Thank you so much for the link and for the info you wrote for me! :o
I actually wonder, do you have any social media that I could also promote (by writing them in the video description) about this comic (such as a Facebook page for example, or a Patreon), or even your own social media, where you post once in a while art from your comic?

Ultra Gear wrote:Yes please!

Pleaseee, give me a link to your comic and if you have any social media you'd like me to link in the video description! :D

Hey! Thank you for the reply and the links! :D

Hmmm, I see that there's 11 pages insofar. To be honest with you, I always read the entire first chapter, before I write my reviews. It helps in making richer reviews, unless we're talking about webcomics that... well, some of them don't even have chapters! :P

I would honestly appreciate it if you could send me the entire first issue in a private message - it goes without saying that I won't share it with anyone. It will just remain in my brain forever. (But seriously, I had people who only sell their comic on Comixology send me their precious gem in my email <3 I feel blessed for doing this ehehe! 8-) )

This is really cool! Here's my comic:
It's called "Toddy" and it is a fantasy, adventure story that takes place in a land called The Prog Realm. One of the main characters is a giant flower named Todd, who is the heir to the flower throne. But he decides that he doesn't want to be the flower king, so he runs off into the Prog Realm, and befriends a man named Toddy, who tries to help Todd hide from the Flower Council.

This is the social media I have for it:

Thanks for this opportunity!

Hi Alkyone
Thanks for your post!
My comic is
About 265 pages now, so quite a lot to review!

Info and description below:
A comic of ghosts and gunpowder, set in eleventh century Japan.

Genza, a exiled nobleman-turned-monk, is offered a chance to redeem himself by undertaking a perilous journey to Heian Kyo. Will Genza be prepared to confront his own demons in order to save the life of the man who exiled him, will his daughter Masako make a new life for herself in the city, and does a stranger met on the road offer a chance for a new way forward?

The Historical Setting

Heian Japan ran from roughly 780 to 1160 and is seen as a golden age of Japanese culture. It produced arguably the first novel, the Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu, and one of the most famous diaries, the Pillow Book of Sei Shonagon. The authors worked as ladies in waiting to rival empresses. There is a snide reference in the diary of Murasaki criticizing The Pillow Book as presumptuous and full of imperfections, and a small but active modern Sei/Murasaki slash fiction fan base.

The Heian period is also known for the art of writing poetry, the founding of the modern city of Kyoto, or Heian Kyo, and the beautiful costumes worn by high ranking court ladies.

It's very generous of you to offer to help upstart creators out. I've checked out your channel and your site and there is a lot of helpful content there.

My comic is found on either my personal site or on smackjeeves . (I also have the first chapter available as a paperback on amazon) For social media, I link to my comic at and instragram would probably be most helpful.

War, peace, daily life, culture, and the struggles that all people face. An anthology that explores humanity without the distraction of humans.

In terms of genre, I would put it somewhere in the realm of drama/slice of life/sci-fi/alt-history. There's some lore articles on my site as well if you wish to get more of a glimpse of the world.

There is a heavy focus on character interaction above specific plot beats. Lots of expressions and I try to keep the dialogue as believable as possible. I wish it could be an animated series but I lack the time or knowledge, though a comic format lets me do some things not possible in animation so I can't complain. The characters are non-human for a few reasons, such as letting me play with the audience's expectations in various ways, but this will come more into play in future chapters. The comic itself is an anthology, the characters in each chapter may or may not be seen again or interact with the characters from other chapters.

If the pages on the website are not as high resolution as you want for your video, I am able to send larger versions (just let me know).

Whether or not you read or feature my comic, I thank you for your time. :) have a good day.

Folks, thank you so much for sending me a link to your comic! :D :D
Just so you know, even if I don't respond in this thread, I am still bookmarking your comics and will explore them on my channel (unless they happen to fit into these categories: which is VERY RARE, so do NOT let that discourage you!! You have nothing to lose by sending me a link to your comic!).

It would actually be quite convenient for me if you folks had a Twitter...
I always make a Tweet promoting my video and I always tag the creators' Twitter accounts in my Tweet.
However, it's okay if you don't have one! :P

But, since I don't want to spam this topic (and send a new message every time one of your comics gets explored on my channel), please find a way to stay updated with my videos. :) You can subscribe if you want but if not, just bookmark my channel. (me tagging you on my Tweet post is also a way for me to let the creators' know that I have explored their comic)
I explore indie comics every Tuesday and Thursday, so these are two days to look forward to! ;)

Also, just so you know, I have already prepared the videos for the next month or so, so your comic will most likely not be explored that soon. Patience, patience, and just enjoy all the other awesome indie comics that exist out there!

Thank you so much for checking my site! I have put so much effort in making it, so I'm happy to know you find it helpful. :D

This is a very kind initiative! :D
You probably have a lot of candidates on your hands, but I would really like to propose my own comic as well.
It's a superhero story, it's still on chapter 2, but it's nearing its end.
The genres are mostly action, superhero, thriller-esque, but so far, mostly so far I've covered the introduction and action parts.
There's also an element of mystery, drama and there's some humor sprinkled in. And a little bit of gore for good measure, which makes it not
everyone's cup of tea, I understand.
The title is simple - Superhuman. It's the story of people, having super powers and how they choose to use them.
The main characters get more developed further on as we go.
This is the link to my comic:

And if you choose to make a video on my comic, my twitter name is @Satanimir :D

Again, thank you for taking this initiative!

Would you consider promoting a fan comic? If so I'd be very grateful if you could promote mine.

Title: The Legend of Incineroar (Pokemon/Smash Bros fan comic)
Genre: Drama/Action

Thanks for doing this either way for the other comic authors, it's a very kind gesture!

A sci-fi/comedy. I've only completed the prologue and the first chapter however (22 pages), so there isn't much to go on at the moment.
