The thread is about the first comic you read, not the first comic you made. Please make sure you read the first post in a thread, not just the title :] A few people have made that mistake in this thread.

My first Webcomic was Ozzy and Millie. I discovered it around 2002 or so, when it was about mid-way through its run via some friends of mine.

*Yes, I realize that I just necro'd this thread, but it's still good.

Mine was Gloomverse. It sucked me in like a tornado.

It was MegaTokyo! It was weird, offbeat and 13 year old me LOVED it.

I revisited it a while back and the story's completely lost me AND the character page hasn't been updated. Still, hit me with the feels...

The first webcomic I read was "Starfighter" by HamletMachine! It was revealed to me by a friend, so I started reading it and ended up really liking it xD

If that's the one I'm thinking of, is it weird that your avatar always reminded me of it a little bit? Just the style of it I think.

"Neglected Mario Characters", which I started reading shortly after it launched back in 1998. If I'm not mistaken, it was the first sprite comic to appear on the web.

The site is still up, though hasn't been updated in almost a decade. NC's parent site (VGF.com) is still somewhat active though, and I actually moderate there now.

Mine might have been 8-bit Theater? I honestly don't remember, it was so long ago. I read a lot of VG Cats too. I just tried reading any webcomics that were available to me, so I would slog through a bunch of them even if I didn't like them. It took me a while to figure out that I didn't have to keep reading comics I didn't like, haha.

No, it's not weird at all xD I can see it as well, and I'd be lying if I said some subliminal inspiration hasn't worked its way into my avatar pic xD
Also, my avatar is from a larger-scale mature content piece I did with homoerotic themes, so that alone makes it similar to "Starfighter" xD
