Vaguely outlined the first chapter of my next comic, and it's way better than the previous draft. A miracle.

I started thumbnailing the second chapter of my comic! Thank you past me for writing out so much detail before.

Man, my comics are getting so depressing that it's a downer just drawing them.

Was UNBELIEVABLY stumped on how to compose a panel and what I've got I'm still not sure if I'm happy with but at least it makes more sense now? Might come back to it again later hmm

I'm having a bit of trouble working out this alarm, too; I might just have it going off for the first page or two, rather than have the BEEPBEEP sound effect cluttering up composition in every shot after it's pressed

For the first time in a few days I actually have the stamina to draw my webcomic. I love my job but man it's tiring.

Because of work stupidness I got away from the drawing board for like multiple weeks (not sure, I haven't like kept track). I'm worried I won't have the next page ready in time for Wednesday, but the past several weeks I've been updating on time and I can count the number of readers I've had on one hand so maybe I shouldn't care about it after all

I also took this break right before my least favorite part of the drawing process, inking and adding details to environments. It never actually takes very long but I still, try as I might, don't enjoy that part of the process. I'm also noticing all manner of problems with the inking I had already completed weeks ago so it's that unrewarding sensation of polishing a turd.

The bright side is if I finish this step tonight I can pick out colors tomorrow in the daylight and get that underway.

I traded scanners with my mom so now I have my old scanner I used to use back home that worked well.

The last strip for the storyline I've been working on for a little over a year just posted this morning, so my day in webcomics was spent not thinking about webcomics. That's not entirely true. I've been thinking about what the next storyline's going to be, that's always in the back of my mind, but it's nice to be able to take a short break and not worry about an upcoming deadline. I'm hoping I'll spend this hiatus wisely and actually get ahead, so I'm not always struggling to meet the deadline, even when I'm dead tired and just wanting to go to bed. It would also be nice if I could break the steps up into multiple days. Hopefully, I can complete some other side project, like working on making some fan art for some of the comics that I enjoy reading and whatnot.

I sometimes send pictures of the weirdly drawn faces I create to my boyfried. Why? Because I like to keep him on his toes.

Last night I had intended to get started on coloring the next scene. I sat down around 5:30 ish? give or take? And worked until about 9:15 and... was able to color all three pages, including a texture/shadow colored pencil layer, a "flats"/markers layer, and I even threw some paint down on there. <4 hours, including time to read some forums and play some rounds of solitaire, to fully color three pages is... like... *really* not bad, guys. I... I might be getting back to my fighting weight.

I got writing ideas bouncing around my head yesterday - it hasn't happened for a while! Getting back to this and it's going to be hard because I have next to no routine by now but hey, it means I can start building a better one. I have some ancient unfinished pages I could finish but I'm going to go through all my script notes today and see if it's worth it. :? On one hand, being okay with older art is something I need to learn but on the other hand fixing/finishing old stuff has always been my error.

Sketched 2 pages! Unfortunately spent too much time laboring over two panels that contain a character whose design is loosely based off a real actor who is, apparently to me, *really difficult* to translate into not only illustrated format but also a teenaged version of himself. I moved on but I imagine I'm going to be erasing those parts of those panels and trying them again another day.

Sad to see I was the last post in the thread, over a week ago :( Well hopefully everyone's spending time in a good way and enjoying life.

I've spent so much time this past year thinking about what my cast is going to be doing in the chapters to come that it's kind of weird to draw them in "current" time.
