Aaaah I'm probably jinxing myself here but I've been in a great mood lately. Hope it lasts.

Hey man, it's good to feel that from time to time, that's all we can hope for. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Edit: Also I should sleep but I'm just so full of relief right now (another thing where all I can hope for is that it lasts).

I'm going to start driving school tomorrow! Can't wait to feel what it's like behind the wheel!

My mom did warn me about the dangers of driving, but I think I'll have fun down the road on my own car! =D
Just some kid who likes to draw and sprite. Thinking of starting a comic and actually sticking with it.

You know, I kinda feel like writing about the rest of my day. My bad feelings set in only a while ago, and damn it I had a good day otherwise.

I went to the doctor this morning, and aside from my blood pressure being high again (which after being checked towards the end of the appointment, had gone down a good 10+ points top number, so probably just nerves I was struggling through), I'm good! I got what I went in for, the doctor was sympathetic to the issues I did have instead of condescending, and my 2 day long sinus headache was treated with an allergy shot. My hip hurt like a bee sting for a couple hours from it, but I can deal with that. My favorite canned coffees were on sale, and my meds have been changed to something I know won't make me want to drive into a tree/off a bridge. Even after I went to work, I couldn't stop smiling. And I've at this point finished about 11 comic pages (only wips are up on my sketch thread right now of a few of them though)! I think today was pretty good and need to give it some credit, even if it tanked recently. :)

Oh, and I need to remember to put up a picture of my new cat in the pet thread. Her name's Abby, and she's adorable. She looks just like the cat my family had when I was a kid. He was the best cat ever, so it's nice for the reminder with this dork. <3
I'm trying. :)
Molly-sama (here from 09) - If anyone was waiting on my comic just know its deletion was entirely by accident. : | It's here, but it will be back on SJ soon.

I drove down to Salt Lake City for FanX Comic Con, and after they opened, I was wandering around, looking for my friends who got in early (I was too cheap to buy a VIP pass). While I was wandering around, who should I run into, but our very own LoverOfPiggies (author of Gloomverse)?

She's running a booth down there all weekend, and she said she now supports herself fully through her art. Unfortunately, she doesn't have much time to hang around here on the forums anymore, but she does run a Patreon and is on Instagram (and Tumblr, I think). I just thought it really cool to see one of us Smackjeevers make good. She says hi to everyone, by the way!

It was a peaceful and rainy day here. Mr B had work in the a.m. and then went to a friend's house for the afternoon so I wound up having the whole day to myself. I got some organizing done, including adding a bunch of music to my computer library, and have had just a really chill buzzed day. In a little bit I'm going to take a nice bath and then pick colors for the scene I finished inking yesterday. This year will mark 10 years since I first put my comic online, which has me feeling pretty happy and excited, and I'm hoping that remains a motivating factor for me in the coming months to keep working. Either that or I'll work out and watch some TV, idc! Today's been great.

New computer.

Don't know where to put this, here or the bad things thread, because there's been a week of hell and a whole lot of other troubles ahead. I'm putting it hear because all of my data survived and I was able to resurrect Lydia in a new vaporwave body that is mostly empty space and has flashing lights.

Everything is still MICROSCOPIC and OpenOffice still uses anti-aliasing no matter what I do* so everything is blurry and I won't be able to use it for text effects for art like I'm used to, and Microsoft thinks it knows better than I do how to live my life, but it's nice to have my baby live again.

* I've managed to disable anti-aliasing on everything else, pretty much. At least everything I use. Looking at text that isn't straight pixels hurts my eyes.

I had a three day weekend, only had to leave the place twice, and wore the same clothes each day. I cleaned and played Sims and sketched and watched tons of TV and slept and drank and drank and drank. I feel rested and calm.

Don't have to work this coming week since the students at my job have their spring break before my school does. And I got my first commission after getting the guts to just start posting my work on deviantart, twitter and facebook after ignoring the fear-mongers at school who say that my art might be stolen. I don't think you can do much with a low res version of a print ready fan art... and I don't really care anyway.

A nest full of eggs in the bushes out front and sprouts coming up in the garden. Looks like it'll be a good spring!

New life :) :)

Soup on the stove, been a chill day. Got some chores done and a lot of relaxing. Hoping to ramp up and get some drawing in as well.

Things have been looking up of late and I'm really grateful.
It's incredible and just... i can't even describe how it feels to go from having perpetually zero energy and always coming home and being too anxious to get much of anything done to just, actually being able to Do stuff that I want to do?? Even if some nights I still overestimate a bit (... am working on being more realistic), it's leagues ahead of a couple months ago and just...

finally.

There's still a long road ahead on a lot of stuff and I have no idea where i wanna go in the next few years, which is kinda new to me, but I think it'll be okay not knowing for now~ just enjoying the present.

Today was neat! hit up a craft fair at my old high school, the local comic con was a lot bigger than i thought it would be, hit that up, too, found some cute stuff!
haircut, checked out a new sweets place and got yummy ice cream + macarons, bought blackout curtains (hisses at the early morning sun) & work shoes, mowed the lawn.....

anyway I'm rambling but just... wanted to get all of this out somewhere. I'd always thought myself a mostly optimistic person but that took a serious dive this past year or two and it finally feels like I can maybe be that person again.
