Megaman Battle Network 7

So... not sure if this belongs here, but... any clue about what happened with Pharaoh Man and his webcomic?

It is as if it never existed here.

No actual clue since I've never even heard of that comic before, but it's possible that the story's similar to that of many other sprite comics.

It's not uncommon for sprite comics to be deleted by their authors. The most likely scenario is that they simply lost interest in the project, and didn't feel that the comic was a good representation of their skill, and chose to take it down. Some authors even feel outright shame about their old sprite comics or their past involvement in fandoms, especially if there was drama involved. Said drama can also drive an author to quit and delete their comic, just to avoid it and forget it.

Well, not only is the comic gone, but Pharaoh Man's Account seems to have been deleted as well.

That comic had been going on for over 5 years. It was the Bob and George of the BN Universe.

I find it sad that the author just deleted it.

Same here. I was glad to find this forum because it was something that I was wondering too.

Same thing happened with Kabutroid who wrote Planet Zebeth. It's not on this site, but basically the same thing happened where the whole thing disappeared, the author, the comic, gone. Which is way sad because his page count was in the thousands. :/ Really saddens me when something like a whole comic just disappears and then I think to myself, I might be the only person to know this existed one day... I think I remember taking a glance and MBN7, I really enjoy the game series. That's too bad, I feel for all his fans.

EDIT: Actually I just checked, it looks like Zebeth has returned to me. :') It was gone for months though.

Regarding BN7

Postby Little Sachya » October 6th, 2019, 10:55 pm

I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I can finally address this, so I'm just gonna post what I told Ghostman in February of last year

Hi Ghostman,

I feel like I owe at least you an explanation, since you were probably the biggest fan of my comic. The truth is...I just got tired of it. I was still having fun making it but it really felt like it wasn't worth it. I'd really rather do other stuff with my time and 2017 was probably the worst year of my life, so that certainly didn't help. I'm feeling a lot better now, but I honestly don't miss the comic at all. I'm actually ashamed of some of the early pages, some of them felt outright offensive, and I think I was just continuing it because I was being stubborn. "I started it so I have to finish it".

I deleted everything, but the pages are still safe in case I wanna come back, I just...don't see that happening, ever. So...sorry for disappointing you, I guess.

I'm mostly on Twitter now, mostly talking about Gravity Rush and very rarely about Mega Man. If you want the handle I can give it to you (I dunno why you'd want it though...), as long as you don't tell anyone, since I don't want people bugging me about the comic.

I wish you the best.

Pharaoh Man

If anyone that cares is still around, I guess I could answer some questions too. Just don't ask me to spoil anything.

Most importantly, thanks to all of my readers for everything. I was only able to keep going for so long because I had an incredible fanbase. And I will always have fond memories of my time in SJ.

Cheers

Do you mind if I move this to the previous thread about the comic? It doesn't seem right for there to be multiple threads, and this thread isn't likely to make sense to anyone not already aware of the comic's disappearance, whereas the other thread can provide some context.

Sure thing. There isn't a lot of activity here so I didn't think it would matter.
