They aren't dead. There are a load of sprite comics on the internet which include Adding Zero, Pokemon X, Pokemon Granite, Simple Pixel (By far the best out there.

Meh, some people are really talented with spriting.
I myself?
I got into spriting because I read SAP and Power Rings, two nearly polar opposite comics.

I'm still not that great at it, though every time I manage to come back and say, "Hey, that sucks. What can I do to make it better?" it usually end up being better.
Like the current sprite I'm working on looks astronomically better than my first sprite, and more original than the sprite I just left behind.

A majority of the REALLY talented spriters I knew have either gone onto drawing or have left SJ.

The After Subtract and Mario vs. Sonic vs. Megaman have ended.

The After Subtract has a continuation comic though;

This one has finished too, though I used to hate waiting for it to update....

I remember when going through Sonic games and making Sonic an idiot were brand new and amazing plot details to use.

Now they're overused and overrated.

As long as a comic isn't using canon characters, has a decent plot, and decent panels, I'll read it. Anything unoriginal? I won't touch that stuff.

Sprites aren't the most important thing in a sprite comic, that is to say you don't need amazing sprites to have an amazing comic.

Saying better spriters will lead to better sprite comics is a foolish misconception.

Sprite comics arent dying, more than half of them are just bad

I must admit, Sprite Comics nowadays are mostly Pokemon, Sonic and Mario. It would be nice to see something a little fresh.

im=n my opinion alot of sprite artists are trying to ride the wave rather than make something unique. Anything that becomes popular gets copied. even drawn comics suffer this at times. Its just that things are slowing down.

95% of all sprite comics are unoriginal.

Mine isn't as far as I'm concerned (as far as characters and having an epic plot as opposed to a chapter by chapter plot. Think arc by arc), at least it isn't ripping off a popular videogame series, right?
