Rat Queens, review
By Kurtis Wiebe & Roc Upchurch

About: a team of successful adventurers who are forced to take on a quest, after weeks of drunken debauchery forces the town council, where the Rat Queens reside, to punish them. Rat Queens is a fun read, which intertwines humor with fantasy realm (D&D) style storytelling. Roc’s art is especially beautiful, and his ability to convey character emotion and personality, while adding a cinematic feel, is fantastic, and is worth the price of admission alone.

What worked: The art is excellent, but the comic’s pacing, both for comedic and storytelling purposes, is the biggest achievement of the book. The comic never lets the reader down, and keeps its audience engaged.

What didn’t: “Really” as a punch line. This criticism is better explained here.

If you like Goblins, be sure to check out this comic!
