Weird. I'm not seeing them, no matter how many times I refresh, be it on the main site, comic info pages, or comic pages themselves.

Are you seeing any ads at all? Make sure that if you have an ad blocker, SJ is whitelisted.

Oh yes, I've had SJ white-listed for a long time (you know, because I like using this site or something, and the ads aren't obtrusive. ;) )

The self-serve ads haven't been fully rolled out yet. We're just running a partial test right now, but things are looking pretty decent. I'll have good stats in 2 days.

Does this mean only some users are seeing them?

I'm sure rotating the SJ ads in and out with other ad services makes their bots go cuckoo, too.

Advertising services don't need to use bots, impressions and other information is delivered as part of displaying the ad in the first place. So, nothing goes cuckoo, the advertisers just see a smaller number of hits than SJ actually gets.

Are those ads meant to be for the subscriber's comics?
Ok... irritating English...
I try again...

The comics in the advertising are those comics from people who subscribed?
If yes ...do we need new banners?

Check out the first post, it has all the requirements.
Nothing about subscriptions, just banner sizes. PM your appropriately-sized banner to Admin if you want to participate. When I sent my banner in, Admin recommended adding a call to action (e.g. "Read now!", "Click to read", that sort of thing) to it, so you may also want to do that.

This is just a test run for now. Eventually it sounds like this system will be automated ("self-serve"), and will probably not be free.

Hey everyone,

I just want to give a quick update for people who want in on the free promotion.

The current testing is set and it's kind of complicated to add new ads to the rotation right now. If the results look good, I'm going to build the next version and there will be another round of free promotion available when that is ready. Thanks everyone for your interest.

Ah. That is why I started seeing ads on SJ, but since they are relevant (as they are other webcomics) I find it useful. I will put together an ad and send it your way.

Who is able to read, has clearly an advantage.

Thanks.

Update: I've been working on filtering out invalid clicks so that when this launches people will know exactly how their ads are performing. A self-serve beta will be ready in a couple weeks.
