Ponyo?

Nope. This is a live-action thing. And there was no ocean in the world before this guy made it, although lots of people remembered there being one.

In a masterfully animated adventure, a dog and squirrel work together to save a cat. The film is full of charming puns and classic movie references, and the multi-dimensional villains are subtly designed to appear as Nazis.

It's hard to tell if you're just describing the movie, or if there's a lot of clever wordplay being used...

My first guesses were Oliver and Company, and Bolt, and neither of those fit.

Also, did I really stump everyone again?

Less wordplay, more just sarcasm.

Can you give us another hint on yours?

I have a sinking feeling you are right.

Danny Devito hangs around, there's mention of a camping based housing shift.

They all feature the same protagonist.

mikemacdee wrote:1) Hero goes on a trip to the caribbean to have a word with a very disagreeable physician.
2) A phony aristocrat finds himself surrounded by beautiful, cultured women.
3) A saintly gent gets his hands on a lot more tail than usual.
4) Angry best man doesn't like how his buddies are doing their job, so he quits and goes freelance. Ends up having a real gas.
5) This guy has to break something in outer space. Again. With a much less qualified female sidekick.
6) Our hero proves the age-old saying that you can never go home again. Because some asshole will blow it up.

Nope.

You'll have to guess the individual movies on the list. I won't respond to any other guesses on the series as a whole, 'cos that's a bit too easy.

EDIT: Here's one more clue though, which ought to help.

They all feature the same protagonist...but each has a different lead actor.
