Speaking of books, I had known a couple of politics and history books. I'm not an expert into history but I've somehow live in it. What I'm currently studying right now is about self-love. About self-attitude, The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael Singer, The Gifts of Imperfection:, How to Love Yourself and 4. Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl and etc. here's an article that can help too I hope this help to those who want different taste in books.

I've always been fond of HG Wells The Outline of History because it says as much about the man and his own time as it does history leading to the 19th century.

I have a couple favorites...more history books than political.

Lincoln at Cooper Union: The Speech That Made Abraham Lincoln President, Harold Holzer
Team of Rivals, Doris Kearns Goodwin

Changes in the Land," William Cronen
Silent Spring, Rachel Carson (both a history and ecological study...and piece of literature. She could have written in prose.

Railroaded: The Transcontinentals and the Making of Modern America, Richard Wright

There are some good ones on the Great Migration, but I can't remember any of the authors just now (edited a Thesis on it and decided to read some of the books. It was good to read them.)
