Hope you get this sorted soon, it's really denting my ego finding out I'm not actually popular with normal people... Just bots. :P

EDIT: Here's another one...

ANOTHER EDIT: Seriously, it's reeeeally annoying haha ^^ I don't want to have to keep adding links in here for the rest of my life... I fear it's taking a turn that way...

http://patw.smackjeeves.com/comics/1099314/page-171/
http://patw.smackjeeves.com/comics/1138948/page-177/
http://patw.smackjeeves.com/comics/1143829/3800-fans/

EDITEDIT: And a few more... I'm getting them, like, every 10 minutes or so... I'd appreciate if someone took at look at it as soon as they can haha It's getting to be super annoying!

http://patw.smackjeeves.com/comics/977279/2800-fans/
http://patw.smackjeeves.com/comics/926936/page-110/

LASTEDIT: Okay, so I went out for a few hours and came back to 20+ spam emails, all within 10 minutes or so of one another... I'm not going to keep listing them in here until I find out what's going on and whether I actually need to keep linking them. Otherwise I could literally see me spending my entire life posting links to spam comments ^^

Why does that happen? :/
Farewell Feeling is getting some spam, because they replied to two of my comments on that comic. These are the pages I know about. http://farewellfeeling.smackjeeves.com/ ... h-2-pg-18/ and http://farewellfeeling.smackjeeves.com/ ... 9/page-13/
(is it okay that it's not my comic? I just happened to notice this thread on the front page)

I've gotten some CRAZY spam the last day or two. It's insane stuff about miniature firearms, cemetery plots, children's museums, and polliwogs. It's all addressed to people named Milly, Merrill, or Bob. It makes me laugh but it could become a problem...

http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=83450 is my comic.

Spam pages:

It's starting to get to the point where there's really nothing more we can add to the spam filter... for now, just delete these yourselves, because that's basically all I'm doing. I might have to figure out another way to prevent spam.

Understood.

Is there any way to have a reCapcha system or something similar for the comments?

Hello! I've been getting spam on my comic A LOT during this evening. Like in one hour I got twelve. Do I need to post each page because that'd take hella lot of time, since it's about like every page in my comic. :/ http://tentalove.smackjeeves.com/archive/ Here's the archive. It'd really help me out if you could somehow disable it, I don't know if that's even possible... Sorry if you've already replied to this stuff to others but I'm currently really busy OTL;; and I'd need to get some job applications sent and these spams are really bugging me. I'll delete them later on myself, and stop the e-mail notifications at least. Hope the admins can find some cure to this horrid decease!! Keep up the wonderful work!

Spam alert. http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=60092

I guess I could turn off guest commenting, but some of my readers comment as guests, like Secret_Comic_Lover, who has been with me a long time. What to do? I've already deleted about 20 comments. They keep coming. ^^; I know I have to delete them myself. I thought I'd report it.

>>>Ahhh, spam. You are so logical. >>>> "klyNZkgLOgTHgJhcRq - Oh...my. Custom squlrreis that wear tiny hats and carry miniature firearms. Who wouldn't want to be the proud owner of one of those beauties?"

Well, the good news is I actually figured out a way to improve the spam filter and delete a lot of the spam. The bad news is it is getting much harder to detect spam and still a lot of it is impossible to detect because I can't write rules that target certain kinds of spam without also targeting legitimate posts.

Is there any way you can implement a feature where to comment as a guest you also have to fill out one of those small 'gapatcha' things? I probably said that wrong, but yeah, that could stop a lot of spam.

Just recently, I was thinking how nice it was that Smackjeeves doesn't have one of those "type the letters that appear" things. :/ A friend of mine has a comic with one of those that never seems to work right.
But, maybe there needs to be something... hopefully something easy and not annoying, though...

I got one on my recent page :C Apparently my fans have complained about the bot replying to their replys? Idk if I should turn off replies. :/
